If theymos is not celebrating it, then we will not celebrate.  Cool

Something is wrong with Op's post or I am getting it wrong because I think Op should at least know the difference between Bitcoin.org and Bitcointalk.org. So OP I think you need to have a look again on your topic because Bitcoin.org is a hardware store and provides other information related to Bitcoin as communities, and other types of Guides etc etc. I had never seen a dedicated topic for the Bitcoin.org Aniversday.

If OP is confused with both then he should at least go for a quick go through if not I'm not sure Why because we even do celebrate different events as Pizza Day. Legal tender day upcoming infinity day etc.

Well, we celebrate the things and events related to bitcoin like Bitcoin Pizza day etc.
These are also not directly linked with bitcointalk forum anniversary, but we celebrate because they are linked with Bitcoin BTC

Bitcoin.org and Bitcointalk.org both created by Satoshi Nakamoto but since 2020, two domains and ownership changed and separated each other. Bitcoin is a decentralized projects so there is no official website or official forum for it. Bitcoin.org and Bitcointalk.org are only parts of Bitcoin history but not all. More websites, more forums for Bitcoin will be created in future and we can use them too.

I surprised that some consider BITCOIN.ORG as a separate domain from this forum, because I read in some old posts with the BITCOIN.ORG and forum topics ID numbers. we cannot separate the history of the two domains, although the influence of BITCOIN.ORG is no longer the same as the current forum, nor the percentage of visits or influence On the lives of individuals.

15 years in which Bitcoin has achieved great changes, and I hope that we will see deeper changes in the next 15 years.

Domain name update

Bitcoin.org and Bitcointalk.org both created by Satoshi Nakamoto but since 2020, two domains and ownership changed and separated each other. Bitcoin is a decentralized projects so there is no official website or official forum for it. Bitcoin.org and Bitcointalk.org are only parts of Bitcoin history but not all. More websites, more forums for Bitcoin will be created in future and we can use them too.

Satoshi created both bitcoin.org and this forum, which was originally at bitcoin.org/smf. Later, the forum got its own domain name, but due to this history, bitcoin.org and bitcointalk.org have traditionally been linked, and for quite some time Cøbra and I have together managed the domain names. However, Cøbra has never had much involvement in bitcointalk.org's operation, and I haven't involved myself in bitcoin.org for a couple of years, so the linkage between the two no longer really made made any sense. Therefore, we decided to separate the domains: I no longer have any access to the bitcoin.org domain name, and Cøbra no longer has any access to the bitcointalk.org domain name. The two sites should be viewed as totally separate, which in practice they have been for years.

There will be no changes whatsoever on bitcointalk.org due to this, and I'd assume that the same will be true of bitcoin.org. The bitcoin.org open-source project has been advancing steadily, and I hope and expect that it will continue to do so thanks to the efforts of its contributors.

Thanks to Cøbra for handling much of bitcointalk.org's domain-name-related work in the past.

Attention economy prospering + people having their own stuff to deal with... it makes sense if they don't have the energy to celebrate every little thing. I tried to access bitcoin.org and even them don't appear to be celebrating as well -- so there's that.

In any case, I'd say it's best to just let people do whatever they want on this, it's not like there's a wrong answer.

Many people who have bitcoins do not have an idea about this date and do not care about it, I on my own do not see any reason why an investor in bitcoins should have this date in their head when it is not something that can increase the bitcoins they have. People who have bitcoins are more interested in getting more that marking a historic date. If you know about the date, you can personally have your celebrations, there is no need to make a big deal from it. There are better things that can be celebrated about bitcoins and we hope to celebrate acceptance and adoption of bitcoins above everything else.

A lot of these are more of ceremonial celebrations and not religious or ritualistic, which means that whether we make a big deal out of it or not doesn't necessarily equate to us losing track of what bitcoin is. I'd argue that the fact that the industry is able to move on from mundane stuff like this is a great enough sign that we're progressing and developing at a breakneck pace, which is good for everyone involved, whether you're a builder or an investor. Of course it's great every now and then to reminisce about the simpler times, but between then and now where bitcoin is significantly more valuable, I'd choose today. It's one thing to recall and reminisce, it's another to look back and retain past habits just cause.

Even though it is not celebrated, this historic day deserves to be remembered and commemorated. Because after all it was part of the history of bitcoin in the early days. Looks like today I got a lot of new insights about bitcoin. In another topic I got insight from a topic someone made (What they used before Blockchain Explorer?). And now I'm getting new insights and insights that I think are important in the bitcoin history book. Thank you friends for sharing things that many people forget. I haven't forgotten it but I did find out about it today. Grin
Same feelings dear mate, That information was also new to me and this was also a new set of information but tbh i am bad at remembering dates so the chances of forgetting this information next year are so high. But still i would try to celebrate it next year. And then i will try to mention this OP to invite in that celebration.

Bitcoin.ORG was the domain name of BTC website while this forum is known as Bitcointalk. Both are although two different names but are made for the same purpose of BTC. So, i think it really deserved a chance of celebration and to celebrate we could donate to this domain if there is any donation address.

Leave no FUD unchallenged
There are many dates people seem to want to celebrate.  One could argue there might be too many of them.  People want to commemorate the anniversary of the whitepaper, the genesis block, bitcointalk.org, bitcoin.org, "that pizza", etc.

I'm far too lazy to celebrate that many things every year.   Cheesy

So, you're using the forum to try to gain a few views on your Twitter account?
This is quite low, and borderline pathetic.

Yeah, newsflash!
The Bitcoin word was entered far earlier since bitcoin(dot)com was first registered in 2003!

OP, did you decide to create this topic today for the first time in such a long period of time? Open the secret: what do you have to do with this event that you were so affected by the inattention of the forum to such a great date in your opinion? Where were you all the other time?

Well, not everything that appears important really matters most of the time; it might matter to some, and to some it might not add any value, and celebrating just a dominance registered date won't add anything to the bearish market that we are about to face in the bitcoin market, or will I say that we are already on?

It's obvious the guy who made that tweet is just looking for a way to get noticed, as it was clear with his statement, as he probably dumped some bitcoin in order to get noticed.
Either way, it's good that there are historical records that are well kept and will be remembered someday, even if they're not celebrated as expected. We individually add value and meaning to whatever we want, so that shouldn't be a problem. You can also celebrate it from your end if you want.

I am not sure why you want us to celebrate a domain registration and those who are tweeting this out are surely doing it for their own benefit, I don't see any of it for you or me.
I would be happy to celebrate if I get to know who satoshi is instead of this, not a big deal for me and shouldn't be for anyone around the community. Cheesy

Sometimes I forget about this but since there are no congratulatory responses means they dont acknowledged the anniversary of the domain. Obviously none cause we are in the forum. I even think the pizza event or historical details are much important or familiar by community than this one.

But is there any official celebration for bitcoin which was recognized by a lot of community and users?

I don't think that anyone still cares a lot about the anniversary of that site and that's why no one is celebrating its anniversary. Like @Poker Player said that the forum is bitcointalk.org not bitcoin.org and that's a valid reason for the members of the forum to not celebrate 15 years anniversary of that site. I also believe that the site is very important in we go back in the early days of Bitcoin, but now a days no one is that much interested in celebrating its anniversary. I hope you got your answer and if you are satisfied with your answer then kindly lock this thread.

I do not think that might be the case as I feel the community is more into celebrating the reason why Bitcoin become famous. Another reason I believe that most community members are active on the forum than the website. Though Bitcoin.org is the only website where you can read the whitepaper in different languages which according to me is a big achievement.

It don't surprise me that people won't remember the date when the domain is registered, people are more focusing on the product which is Bitcoin, so the launched of Bitcoin, January 2009 is more remembered by people, and that's fair, I didn't say that the domain registration date is not important, but the product launch is definitely more important.

I see it as something people value what they are having and using than what had been into existence one upon a time, bitcoin.org may be the first in place but look at what we have today which is bitcointalk.org what the people have in mind mostly is this present platform and to cap it all, not all members even have the idea of the first existing platform except those that have dive into knowing more about bitcoin history and those who started early together with the platform.
