Whoah, I'm sorry you had to learn it the hard way, buddy, but I'm glad you gained some insights and decided to continue your journey in the crypto world because, as far as I know, this won't stop in the near future. Crypto will be a bigger industry in the future, and I think it's a privilege to know about it this early. I think it's not wrong to just step back for awhile, learn from our and others' mistakes, and kick stronger after that. I know that feeling when you got rugged, it's really sad when you lose all your money in just one tick, I've experienced this and there's a lot of trauma you can't get, You will lose hope in crypto currency and everyone will down you. After months of searching again  and again I started to invest crypto again and it's doing well. Now, I have a business and also I can buy whatever I want in this crypto community. You are welcome back into the crypto investment world, that is why we are telling people not to jump into Bitcoin investments without some knowledge and understanding, Bitcoin investments don't make person get rich quickly, or faster.  Bitcoin is more riskier than what people imagine, now that you have learn from your mistakes I wish you success in the investment world. Pls invest what you can afford to lose. The DCA pattern is one of the strategies that is good to apply, this is directly, is to hold for long and DCA till the next bull run. when the price of bitcoin drops,it is a good time to increase DCA buying and return to normal when the price is out of limit or start to recovery and the long term holder enjoy.

Yes, knowledge and understanding of BTC and cryptos in general should be present before the act of buying.
Or at the very least alongside a DCA strategy with small amounts by the time you're sure what you're doing.

It's pretty simple, who would buy stocks of companies they don't know, without understanding of what they are doing, and with no background?

I'm sorry to read that you've already lost money in the past OP, but I sincerely hope that this experience made you realize that quick gains are not automatic, and most importantly, that education and patience are essential to make profits with Bitcoin.

I wish you success in your future investments, and if I have only one piece of advice to give: take the time to educate yourself about Bitcoin before you put any money into it, understand every real risk involved in owning BTC, and be patient, don't rush. Bitcoin is not going to disappear tomorrow (at least I hope not!), and those who have studied it well, in general, come to the conclusion that rushing is not useful: you won't be able to go back in time and buy BTC at 10 usd anyway. The first mistake you made was not understanding what crypto is all about, in cryptocurrency, we should always learn to invest any amount we can afford to lose, don’t invest any amount that’s going to affect you after losing it, I think that was the first mistake you made, you invested huge amount of money and after losing you lost interest in cryptocurrency.

Investing in altcoins is really risky, when investing in altcoin, it’s just like you are gambling, your profits is not assured, altcoins can crashed at any moment, we saw some strong altcoins that crashed last year so no altcoin should be trusted. Although you have lost on one side, you have gained on the other side. You stopped the crypto journey because you lost a lot by investing in crypto currency but you continued your studies. In this I think you have never done anything wrong. But we're so glad you're back in cryptocurrency. You try again I think you can turn around. Remember to invest what you can afford to lose. And definitely focus more on Bitcoin while investing. Any investor should not focus too much on altcoins. If you keep your investment in bitcoins then you would not have suffered losses so your investment would never have been destroyed.

As a newbie I am really learning fast the importance of really learning about cryptosystem before going fully into it. Before I got into this forum, I had the believe that the quickest way to make money is going into bitcoin. I say this because any young person that is driving a flashy care and is spending big, people will say that the person is into bitcoin. But now I understand that bitcoin is a good investment but that it is not as easy as people portray it. I have also realized that people might make quick money from other means and others will say that it's bitcoin, thereby misleading others.

Please what is the difference between bitcoin and altcoin?

Last year was 2022, that was not a good time to still be holding coins, in February of 2022 the bears are strongly taking over crypto market and many crypto projects are turning into scam, anyway, you must have learn something from this loss, you probably invested in bad projects is all.

You can still made some adjustment and become a better crypto investor, all you need to do is upgrade your way of choosing projects, say no to anything meme coin and hype, focus on the project utility, the team and the partnerships they have, even if you sell your coins too late or you hold when you should be selling your coins, you won't lose to rug pulls.

Do not follow your friends footsteps, focus on yourself, your friend might be lucky than you, he might be into something more risky than you know, I have a friend who oy know how to flip money between memecoins and he have made a lot of money than I have ever made from crypto, I don't let this bother me because his ways are not my way.

It’s okay to commit mistakes and lose your money since investing does not guarantee profitability at all times, sometimes you have to fail first so you will learn your lesson. I hope you have learned your lessons. Cryptocurrency is a vast market. The risk is high. But if you minimize your playing field, you are also minimizing the risks as a result. You never can tell if it was cryptocurrency that gave your friend su h money. He could be a fraudster or something like that. Be reserved and steady and you will succeed.

Now that you're back, you need to rekindle your interest in bitcoin rather than altcoins. Your friend who inspired you must have made a fortune in crypto by investing in bitcoin over time or was just lucky with some shitcoins on a pump and dump basis.
