OP, you forgot to mention about gambling sites!

I'm not familiar with gambling since I never gambled but I thought that people don't keep their funds in gambling websites ... guess I was wrong then.
Anyway , I was speaking generally so basically the same rule applies for everything else.
But you can't be sure that your coins would still be there if a certain exchanger decides to go down.

You'll then have nothing anymore (assuming you kept all your coins to exchange sites).
I suggest you withdraw your coins out of the exchanges but if you persist, try maybe keeping at most 20% of all your coins to it.

That's right, me myself already do some action for this. I exchanged all of my money to some Bitcoin in my local exchanger, because I know Bitcoin would be profitable then my own national currency.

I think this is still not the best to sell bitcoins we already seen the price is high but i think the price will continue to increase and more people are deciding to buy bitcoins to make a profit.. if you think too much you can notice that block halving is too far and there still a potencial that the price of bitcoin will increase more.. 900 value is the best place to sell bitcoin at this point.

I'm still undecided if I want to sell some of my coins. Should I still hold?

Without any distraction hold till the days of halving. You could get additional earning than the ongoing rise.

I think the majority of the gamblers keep the funds on the gambling site, I know I do with small amounts. The hassles to transfer money to your account, every time you want to gamble, are definitely

not worth the effort. I as a rule, withdraw larger amounts when I win some, to another secured Bitcoin Address and then deposit as needed. I also only gamble on the bigger regulated sites, and not

these fly-by-night operators.  Roll Eyes

This topic needs more exposure as I have been a victim of this small market scam myself.I have been waiting for my withdrawals from Payza exchange since 13 days now.Usually it takes 3-5 days and suddenly after the prices sky rocketed ,they're giving sort of excuses in the delay.Initially I thought I was the only one but after checking their facbook page,a lot of complaints regarding the same were posted.

People have been waiting forever for the coins.Seems like they don't really care about fiat anymore.Call it a bitcoin effect.I'd advice everybody not to rely on any exchanges and move your coins to the personal wallets as soon as you can.Soon we shall be seeing which exchange goes MtGox next.

It's not the time to sell your bitcoins . However , it's definitely the time to withdraw your funds from some services.

and when I say "services" , I mean those who promise you to give you interest daily for the next x months or they claim they are doing mining for you or something like that.

Why now ?

No one can deny the fact that bitcoin price is increasing too much lately ... which makes those services lose some of their money and think in a way to stop their losses :

1. We got hacked scenario
2. Simply disappear and never come back.

Some examples :

  • Coince.com : With over than 785,633 users , they give you  3% Daily Profit and I have to say that it looks the most legit one because of the video testimonials by users and also the beautiful web design but we all know that ... If it looks too good to be true then it's probably a scam. (Long term scam) - They are so famous in MoneyMakingGroup forums.

  • HashOcean : with 615,662 users receive their profit every day. I never used them myself but I can that some users are making a good profit from it. I'm not sure if they ever proved that they have actual mining equipment's or not but if I learned something during my journey in the forums .. is that we shouldn't trust a cloud mining company.

  • Exchanges in general : No one wants to see the Mtgox scenario happening again so I assume it's a good reason to withdraw .

I'm making this topic so people don't get greedy and start investing in those scam websites. I just don't want you to lose your coins and cry later.
Use your brain and stay away from scam , as for exchanges ... trade and then simply withdraw instead of keeping larges amounts in your account.

Stay away from some bitcoin sites service for now. Because some bitcoin service sites turn into a scam site. Better keeping your fund from bitcoin service site like Ponzi.

Yes, as the price of bitcoin increases suddenly, it may be good to withdraw some to keep them in your cold storage.

The story of Mt Gox reminds us that if you do not hold the private keys, you are basically putting in trust in thrid parties to hold them for you... but in bitcoin, there is no trust needed.

i agree . people should doubt to this online investment especially the cloud mining and they should not trust this kind of investment , however they are claiming that hashocean is a number 1 trusted cloud mining service since 2012 but how can they be sure that it is true ?  Grin Grin

I agree with you that it is not safe to keep funds on exchange sites. but sometimes, I have to keep them so when I have a chance to buy or sell, I do not need to wait for a transaction to get 3 or 6 confirmations

Good point OP , Thank you for this, I have Investment in HashOcean i already got my Return Of Investment in that site, What i am getting now from it is pure PROFIT. Still i get bitcoin everyday, I will take the risk to not pull out my investment in that site because i will not lose anything from it anymore. If the site continues after halving then i am a lucky guy. But for those people who don't have the guts to do that, I suggest you do what OP said in the first page.

That's good you are making profits and if you are investing then you should always be ready to take that extra risk, but I think this is not the time to withdraw, as price will rise in coming days.
It will be much better that you have to hold it for a longer time and that is because you need to know that the value around this time now is rising so that is quite nice.
And the only thing is that you have to choose the right moment to sell it and that is all.

i think you should never leave any funds on exhcnages so all the time is the time to withdraw not only this time.

but i doubt if any of the exchange services run now, because the price is going up and this rise brings a lot of volume which only means more fees and more earning.

Its not the time to withdraw. Although the price is high, but  you should not be tempted to sell you coins now. If you have faith in this coin then you should wait for some more time , maybe a month more till halving. At that time the price will be at peak and it will be best time to withdraw. and if you are investing in Investment  sites like hash-ocean be careful they can run away  when the bitcoin price will be at peak.
