May we communicate the new Logo? Which one?

Any of the 3 should be fine.  The red, yellow and gray one.

Actually,  different ones for different mediums,  the gray one should be for black and white print.   We need one for a paper wallet since the red and yellow ones don't print well.   We need a version that prints well in color.

In the article I linked yesterday comes out an issue about Bitcoin (and of course iXcoin): the growing dimension of the blockchain, now around 13 GB. Question: is this issue going to affect iXcoin too? Is there any way to make this blockchain slimmer, like allowing to the user to remove old transactions, in other words to choose between a synchronization with the full blockchain and a lighter one. Am I saying absurd things?

The iXcoin block chain is extremely slim,  it takes less than an hour to download it entirely.

iXcoin will keep in sync with the latest upgrades to Bitcoin,  so one Bitcoin solves their problem, iXcoin will have a solution.

Bitcoin also has what is called a SPV (Simple Payment Verification) client,  this is something I would port to iXcoin in the future.  In fact,  for Bitcoin, their SPV client (MultiBit) is the approved client.

Question: what have we now, one or two dev teams? Are they going to work together?

- Choice of name: done (?!?) still the same
- Logo: done (?!?)
- Website update:?
- Windows wallet 0.8.6
- Press releases
- Colored coin / smart money
- etc..

Who is gonna do what? Have we to wait 19 days to end the survey before action?
Is there a shared plan of development? If not, is it possible to unify the efforts to achieve greater results with one single development plan?

I have not talked to Luke yet,  but I gather that he is most interested in developing the website and marketing strategy.

I would like to just focus on technical aspects... i.e. colored coins.

I know it's dangerous to encourage this, but just to make someone happy with the name we got.

http://www.basiliansisters.org/emblem.html

Wow, interesting.  IXC means Jesus Christ?  Then what Vlad was saying about XIC being the devil holds some water since the devil likes to do everything backwards.

Wow, the symbolism just keeps on coming.

You folks are into too much conspiracy theories.  IXC is just a coin created by some anonymous dude using an anagram of "Satoshi Nakamoto"

IX itself is used a monogram for Jesus Christ see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IX_monogram

It is just a coincidence that I X C is greek (Iesus Christus Soter, Jesus Christ Savior).

Google translate:  http://translate.google.com/#en/el/Jesus%20Christ%20Savior

So it is I X (Sigma)  .  However,  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sigma  During the Hellenistic period (4th and 3rd centuries BC), the epigraphic form of Σ was simplified into a C-like shape.

But all of this is just coincidence,   IXC means Internet eXchange Coin.

So move on folks... there is nothing to see here!

@Luke et al,

3 weeks is too long and unnecessary.  We're ready To vote now on a logo, name and website so Let's save some time and roll this thing.

Anybody vote with me to get this voting done with now?  Everyone in this coin has seen this so no need for 3 more weeks.

Holla'!

Yeah that's why i asked if the voting really takes 3 week. The active people on this board already voted.

Let me ask, Just_me, what is your sudden interest in iXcoin?  Have you bought any coins?  Is it a trivial amount or are you truly vested in this venture?

Anyone is welcome here but I am curious who has skin in this game and who is just hanging out or simply hanging out for some other personal reason.

TIA.

thanks, glad to be welcome. I won't be writing much in the thread. I saw luke connells name, and that got me going, and I started writing.

I have a trivial amount of coins, but was wondering about this coin at times.
The beatles sang a song: "I'm a loser"

But, hey, with bitcoin, I can be a winner, and maybe ixcoin is the one vehicle to get me there?
I've been called scum by some, a saint by others, and others have called me Gods minister.
I have been told that I am overly much in regards to 'religion' but I am not religious.

I am not much use to ixcoin, nor to any other coin.
'For christs sake, we are made the offscouring of the world'

I am not judged by anyone, but rather, judge this, that no one place a stumbling block before his brother.

I believe every person who cares and puts forth an effort can add value to any organization.  We are all born with natural talents and then we all acquire some sort of skills.  At the very least, a person can witness what they know and believe about iXcoin.

Like its new management and dev team and the coming relaunch.  This coin needs more awareness and it takes people to raise it.  And in time you'd be surprised what each person becomes good at and ultimately fills a void in the organization they wish to be part of.

If you believe this coin has potential then I suggest you add some coins and then do what feels natural to you to help out.

You have a strong imagination and you're outspoken:  These are valuable, natural God given talents.  Just learn to laser focus them for on demand use and in a positive way for a specific purpose and you can become an irreplaceable force in any organization.

Thanks for posting.

Edit:  I might add; you seem to have good photoshop skills.  That's a great skill to have in this field.  You whipped up these logos in mere minutes.  And judging by the busy and strange look of the new logos on the voting site I'm guessing you made those as well.

See, another talent wasted cause you can't focus it and nor can you work in a team with the opinions of others.  For what good is even a work of art if nobody wants it so try to look for input and then your skills can be of great use.

I agree with all that but this is a digital currency thread.  Let's try to keep the conversations structured for optimal productivity.  Right now We're in a midst of a crucial restructure and relaunch and a lot of work has to be done which requires proper communication; and a lot of off topic talk and repetitive posts simply makes it very difficult to complete this utterly important task.

Thanks for understanding.

You may want to start another thread that is 'self moderated'.  That way you can ensure more focused topic discussion.  This thread may be left just for a watering hole for iXcoin interested folks.

I am thinking about that but I like keeping the original dev as the OP.  Not sure why since he bailed but I don't wanna lose that.

But if this kind if thing gets out of hand I will do that.
