To me this kind of sounds like a backtracking. He first apologized for his statements about bitcoin in January:

https://www.cnbc.com/2018/01/09/jamie-dimon-says-he-regrets-calling-bitcoin-a-fraud.html

We have to remember this is the same idiot that said this about bitcoin in October 2017:

"If you're stupid enough to buy it, you'll pay the price for it one day."

Like duh, you're always "paying the price" for it, its never free. On top of that, the timing of his comment was woeful.

This is also the same bozo that helped bring us the great recession and one of the bankers that absolutely should have been jailed for his role in furthering the collapse of the stock market. If I'm not mistaken he is stepping down from his position of CEO at Goldman Sachs by the end of this year. At least that's what he said he would do earlier in the year.

who gives a shit about  Jamie Dimon's personal opinion?

People care because the idiots that comprise Wall Street are glued to his every word as if he were Moses or something. Needless to say, if he mutters the words "buy bitcoin," a bunch of morons with money will start throwing it at bitcoin. That's why people care.

Jamie Dimon always different between what he said and what he did. He just want make FUD and make market panic with his statement. Better never listen what he said and believe on bitcoin will recover again. He just want to buy bitcoin with cheap price

so many talk about social faces opinions. but all that should matter to a bitcoiner is code
the most important discussion is that can get us an advantage,  especially profits in the form of money,  so it is not important all that is happening in the bitcoin debate, the most important potential is whether or not there is profit, that's all,  no need to question public opinion.

You can consider Dimon as an "old school" who doesn't believe in new techs immediately.
Same as Warren Buffet, it took him a while before he bought tech stocks like IBM and Apple.

He said:

“I never changed what I said, I just regret having said it. I didn’t want to be the spokesman against bitcoin. I don’t really give a sh*t, that’s the point, okay? Blockchain is real, it’s technology, but bitcoin is not the same as a fiat currency.”

What is the same thing about bitcoin and fiat ? Both are currency, yes they are both currency, but different each other.
When you want to send millions dollars of money to the others, you must follow the regulation of bank system.
Different with bitcoin or other cryptocurrency, you have no limit to use, send, receive or pay something with it and no need complicated procedure to accomplish.

If he really never give a shit about bitcoin, he should not regret to having it.

There is trouble abrewing
Who is that guy anyway?  Huh

someone who is scared of bitcoin and believes that bitcoin's adoption is a direct threat to his bank and wants to postpone their inevitable doom as much as possible by delaying bitcoin's adoption when he spreads FUD about it while pretending he doesn't care...

Speaking on Tuesday at an Axios conference in Los Angeles, Dimon was asked about why he changed his mind on bitcoin. True to form, he doubled down on his previous statements, saying that he hadn’t changed his mind and just doesn’t “give a sh*t” about the subject.

He said:

“I never changed what I said, I just regret having said it. I didn’t want to be the spokesman against bitcoin. I don’t really give a sh*t, that’s the point, okay? Blockchain is real, it’s technology, but bitcoin is not the same as a fiat currency.”

Ever the crypto critic, Dimon has over the years used a myriad of epithets to convey his distaste for the subject, variously referring to it as a “fraud,” a “waste of time,” an asset that is “worth nothing,” and a “stupid” investment with “no actual value.” Unsurprisingly, he’s also a card-carrying member of the “blockchain not bitcoin” brigade.

I think this is not the worst comment. He said that blockchain is real yes? So we need bitcoin or coin to use in blockchain system. I think it is better than saying "the bitcoin is bubble". And also the bitcoin is not the same as a fiat currency, and i also believe that is true too. The bitcoin totally different than the fiat money.

who is jamie dimon the heck is actually? I have never even heard of his name, so why should we as a crypto and bitcoin community care about the statements he says? even though he is the CEO of JPMorgan Chase, his statement will not represent the overall condition of bitcoin. he is just a hypocrite who is late and too lazy to benefit from bitcoin.

Hey while I understand he's not a big name in the crypto circle, but Jp Morgan is a brand for investors and public money. I feel he's contradicting himself and his company as they accepted that bitcoins is a currency, and even made their clients buy it. What I suspect is his timing to make such a statement, bitcoins prices are already dropping, so I feel he's causing more damage this is inspite of him being warned not to speak on bitcoins.

Sometimes when you read posts like this on the forum it just confirms that there is much more education to be done for people to appreciate  bitcoin and not just blockchain technology. Bitcoin is the cryptocurrency that is definitely making blockchain technology popular in the world hence this digital currency needs to be treated with the necessary respect.

The good news is we don't give a sh*t about Dimon too and what he said is not important.& Calling Bitcoin a fraud while the bank has been accused of fraud, better to watch your face Dimon, Sandy Weill can't help you.
Without Bitcoin, the blockchain might not have existed.

Lol he's probably tired of being asked about it. He's even being asked about doing a 180 or whatever. I'd be just as blunt if I were him. It's true that he's being painted as a crypto antagonist, too, which he might actually deserve, but I get his frustration.

But yeah his opinion stopped mattering after the market stopped caring. Seems like people won't stop until he acknowledges Bitcoin, which baffles me, but that's not going to happen until Bitcoin is actually too big to ignore for their finances.

it is always funny to see people who can't stop talking about bitcoin say they don't care about it Cheesy

~ Unsurprisingly, he’s also a card-carrying member of the “blockchain not bitcoin” brigade.

what else did you expect? it is a bank and banks always want to have control so that they can continue their corrupted empire. and with bitcoin they will not be able to do that but if they stick to the technology and adopt it for themselves they can get the hype of the technology while maintaining control.

This guy is a fraud. He crashed the price of Bitcoin twice, so that his daughter could buy them at cheap rates. If he doesn't care about Bitcoin, then he shouldn't have spoken about it. He should be investigated for fraud and insider trading.

I'd care less about Jamie Dimon's opinions which also goes for any other known personalities. They don't control the way I think because I don't get influenced by them. This is where many crypto enthusiasts make a mistake. They take whatever ideology these well known people into account. They get affected so easily. We should have our own stand.

reality check of what should happen
as a brit i use the pound i dont care about the euro.. .....
euro forums....... 'oh well'

my point
find a subject. find a person that doesnt use that subject. ask him about a subject. and they are by default going to say they dont give a crap
so just dont get emotional about it. find something that actually matters to talk about

Well sure he doesn't give a $hit about bitcoin. Banks put pressure on bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, accusing their users of money laundering and thinking that cryptos are unacceptable since it's hard to prevent fraudulent activities with them. But they should really shut up after this scandal with $234 billion money laundering scheme in which several banks were involved (JP Morgan is one of them!). The current total market cap is smaller than the amount of money JP Morgan, Danske Bank Estonia and others are accused of laundering! After such a scandal, it's completely unfair to accuse cryptos of anything.

He's right. Bitcoin is not the same as fiat currency. It is much better!
Jamie doesn't give a shit? Then why did he say that he'll fire his employees if he sees them trading Bitcoin? Later his bank was caught buying and his daughter is supposedly holding Bitcoins. A lot of coincidences for someone who doesn't give a shit.
