I used to dream to see Joshua vs Wilder match, but now I'll have to wait for Joshua to recover, make few fight with other contestants, maybe even do a rematch with Ruiz.

I guess my dream is not going to come true.

Was quit shocked at the beginning of the fight but in round three i felt something was not right in favor of Joshua, then i remembered what he said about the fight against Ruiz. Although he has spoken and congratulated Ruiz and also clarify that, fighting with the big guys on the sport is more dangerous and i understand him right. Wish him good return back.

Wow this is one of the biggest upset in the history of the heavyweight Joshua got knocked out in the seven-round by Ruiz
I'm sure a lot of people lose a bet here, who would have thought Ruis will win over Joshua of all things by knock out.

Quote
Ruiz had taken the fight on less than six weeks’ notice following Jarrell Miller’s failed drugs test in what was his second crack at world title gold, having fallen short against Joseph Parker in his only professional defeat.

Hahaha, it was really an amazing bet, my Nigerian friend lost out to me after betting that Anthony Joshua will win the game simply because they are from the same country. I too did not have the full confidence when I placed the bet, I had to just risk it and believing strongly that Joshua will lose.

It was really a game of luck, now we have another bet again, because there will be another rematch around September I think, which I still believe that he will be knocked out strongly, I think his reign is beginning to be over, he has already made enough money, so he should just go enjoy it with his family.

I don't know if boxing fans will believed that this is a game of luck mate. I mean those fighters really train very very hard for any fights so it is in their control and luck has nothing to do with it.

Obviously, Joshua prepared by Andy Ruiz is the better fighter that night. He can take the best punches that AJ game him and he dishes out that AJ can't quickly recover.

Yes, there will be a rematch, but I do think that it will be a different outcome.
Luck definitely don't work in boxing for the experience and fitness of fighters determine who will be the winner. However, AJ ought to win the fight and I think we will agree with me due to how he started the fight but him and his team were too anxious and ignore to study the opponent.
Ruiz, said he will five him a rematch and then we will see the best side of AJ.

The team behind Ruiz added good reviews on how Joshua fight inside the ring, reviewing the strength and weaknesses of the opponents and
give the hint to Ruiz for him to beat the Champ, there's no luck but good conditioning practice and do well when already inside the ring.

To my mind, the only one who can upset Wilder is Fury Cheesy Would be a better rematch than fighting Ortiz.

Frankly, don't know who would Wilder fight so that the fight would be even. Ruiz ?

Yes, but I don't know if you have seen the Wilder vs Ortiz fight, it was a great match and it was the first time I have seen Wilder being on the defense. That's why he gave this fight a go perhaps he wanted to proved that to everyone how 'good' he was, I reckon. It could only be Tyson Fury who can give him a even fight. As of now, Anthony Joshua is out of the equation and Andy Ruiz really derail the plan of both camps/managers to have a mega fight next year. But it's good that the Heavyweight division deserves this attention for boxing fans again and relived it's glory days.

  • The main problem with boxing promoters is that they test the patience of the fans and if you really wanted to watch the best fighters fighting the best you only see that in MMA, they will keep on delaying so that the fans miss out the competition aspect of boxing, i always loved to watch Floyd Mayweather Jr vs Manny Pacquiao and i still used to wonder how would that fight played out if both were in their prime rather than fighting at the end of their careers.
  • Tyson Fury and Wilder fight happened and it was a change from that situation because both fighters agreed to fight and Tyson was coming out of retirement to prove himself against Wilder and it was one of the best fights in a very long time.
  • It was a known fact that Wilder was trying to fight Joshua for a long time but his promoters were ducking that fight as they wanted to make more money before AJ took on Wilder and Tyson. Grin

There is no reason I would bet for Joshua  in this rematch, he is still going to be the favorites of this fight, therefore we will not be getting a good odds. I'm thinking of another shot by Ruiz and once again winning the match, another sweet victory with good betting odds if you are with Ruiz, but less likely he will win, I'm just attracted with the possible betting odds.

Me too becasue Joshua has been my favorite whenever he pick on any. But the surprise that spur from this recent fight keeps me wondering if he should be relay upon becasue i really lost alot of money after the fight. Hope in the return match, he's able to prove himself as the world champion

This was also one of the most pirated events where almost 1 million unlicensed UK viewers watched it.
Nigeria was even worse with 2.35 million unlicensed viewers

If Ruiz won on the rematch, they we should give credit to him, but if Joshua steam roll on Ruiz then we can say that the win is a fluke. I guess this rematch will have a lot of pressure on Ruiz now, since he is already the champion.
Even if Joshua steam roll on Ruiz in their rematch, you can hardly say that the win is a fluke. Did you notice how Ruiz quickly recovered after he was knocked down then knocked out Joshua minute later? Ruiz was deceptively fast during that fight and Joshua made the mistake of fighting him up close.

Big guys normally recover as quick as possible than the skinny ones, I heard this comment from the MMA commentators. One quick knockout isn't enough for their legs to wiggle so there has to be a follow up straight for it to struggle lifting their body weight to control. As for Ruiz, he just can manage his size to quickly recover and go on with the fight. Joshua must not fight anyone else if he wants a rematch.
Right, every fighter reacts different, some recover very fast, while other's totally quit. And that's what we've seen when AJ tastes the canvas against Ruiz. You can see in his eyes that no don't want any part of it. And even if he says the wanted to continue, but his body can't take the punch of Ruiz. So let's bring the rematch and see how great (or not) he is.

As expected, there would really be a rematch but i don't really call for that Ruiz win to be a fluke. It is really just a normal outcome of a boxing fight where the best boxer would always win.Its really hard to accept such defeat if its really your first time but that's how thing goes yet there would really comes a time that theres someone which is better than you.

Boxing fans like you and me would like to see Joshua vs Wilder because the hype was there years ago. But since it has been derailed by Ruiz, then we need to wait a little longer. I don't know if you are aware of, but Wilder will fight Luis Ortiz. Ortiz gave everything against Wilder and I thought that he can upset Wilder in that fight because he put Wilder on a defensive mood.

I guess my dream is not going to come true.

A lot of things might have change the narrative, but I do believed that eventually we will see the three best heavyweights to face it's other because of the big money involved.

Glad that Joshua is man enough in tasting his first professional defeat. So I think the rematch will be very different, so let's see.
