Looks nice! Does the 1BTC denomination mean you're planning to load these with spendable coin? Or is there a way for the end user to do so? Or is this a collectible coin you just decided to put a value on?

Oh.  Sad

You maybe might have wanted to have a little bit more space between the 1 and the B then. I'm looking at one of my cscacscssascius coins for reference right now and he chose a much wider distance which really helps with readability.

Oh, well, too late now.

Yep, I think what people want is something to hold and look at - show their family and friends - give as a gift etc

I am not 100% sure on pricing at the moment, but I would be looking at 0.2-0.3BTC per coin

also I may decide to limit them to a certain quantity, e.g only produce 100

the next lot will be different coins, diff version, look diff - so overtime one can possibly have a collection that could be worth a good investment.

This would make an interesting novelty item, but not practical for any sort transactional purpose.  It would also be highly susceptible to fraud/scams if meant as a long term investment vehicle.

Thanks, I will be watching that listing!

Well the coins that are being produced, are embossed one side but plain the other side due to me originally thinking to have a hologram on their to give the coins some value.

But they will be sold without value to without a hologram on the back.

But if more interest is shown for embossing both sides, then I would be happy to create this Smiley

Picture should be up tomorrow!

Perhaps something like the 'credstics' from shadowrun? like a USB Key with a LCD showing the amount on it

I would be interested in the ones without value and that have embossing on both sides.

You might want to keep an eye on this ebay listing, to see what people will pay for these novelty bitcoins:

Thank you for your comments guys,

Well I am not sure yet if the coin will have a value of BTC, as trust is a issue and is hard to earn.

I will either issue the coin as a novelty coin, or an optional to add BTC on it.

What sort of prices are you guys willing to pay for a coin for novelty purposes?

Thanks for the help advance

Yes, I too believe that the main problem with this idea will be to gain trust in your buyers.

I personally like the idea; a wallet in which you know the public key so you can send BTC to that address and check your balance, and can only be spent if you really need the money and are willing to throw the coin/wallet away. It would serve as a savings account, or even a piggy bank!

If it is meant to be a disposable coin/wallet (after it has been spent), I believe it should be affordable. I think you could probably sell it for $10 because of its novelty value, but if you're charging more I personally would not want it.

A way you could make more from this is offer the coin (as a physical wallet) for $10 with one satoshi on it, and give the option of buying a coin with a balance of .5BTC, 1BTC, 1.5BTC, etc. You could charge an extra percentage or two above market value and earn a good amount of BTC over time Tongue

Can't wait to see what it looks like.

It will be hard in the future to trust that such a coin is not fake.

In the future I dont see people using physical currency at all, but cool thought nonetheless!

Yes, when the whole world is moving away from physical money to some kind of digital currency transfer, why would you be trying to go in the other direction? What makes you think there is a market for this?
