Whats the main reason why Just dice closed? I have been playing here since it opened. What happened?

Please take a look at the following JD blog entry in June.
http://just-dice.blogspot.hk/2014/06/betting-and-depositing-disabled-on-jd.html

As some of you know and many of you are going to find out, we have determined that the best course of action following Canada's new regulations regarding 'online currency' ( read here ) is to temporarily disable betting and depositing on both Just-Dice and Doge-Dice.

The Concierge of Crypto
Just thinking out loud: would dooglus be interested in another dice site ran by another sort of trusted owner, but where he is merely hired as a consultant (officially), and the individual who actually owns the dice site has no other connection to dooglus?

As a consultant, he would be paid for his services as a percentage of the profits, but not as any sort of owner or shareholder, thus isolating him from any legal framework. The site would be operating under a different jurisdiction (or one that does not care.)

Or would he rather just have someone else completely run it and he is merely an "investor".

What I'm saying is, I want a good coder to help me run my own dice site, headquartered in my country, where there are a half dozen bitcoin exchanges operating already, and electronic money in any form is not a big deal as far as government is concerned, and where encryption is not an issue either.

Or maybe this is all just wishful thinking.

On the same topic, when will JD open as a play-money site? Will it run on testnet coins or something? (you could create a just-dice-coin too.)

I replied to this here to avoid spamming up this thread any more:

with a few questions about your offer. It seems to have a couple of issues.

2. Not relying to dice profit is one thing. Lose 50-100+ btcs in few minutes with the right players and the'wrong' edge is another.

In the long run, all we're going to lose is the 10 BTC Jackpot, which is offered "on the house".

Players have no edge over the game itself and DirectBet is well funded to overcome any kind of short term variance.

The two main reasons why we are offering Direct Dice with no house edge for frequent bettors are :

1) We want you to try. We realize there are many dice games out there. To stand out from the rest we allow the most frequent bettors to enjoy a no house edge while at the same time freeroll on the Jackpot.

2) We want to give something extra to our most loyal clients who frequently bet with us on sports and horse racing.

Why bet at other dice games, which typically have 1% house edge, when you can bet on Direct Dice with no house edge while freerolling on the Jackpot ?

Direct Dice also has a unique feature where you can parlay your dice rolls with sport bets and \ or horse racing bets. You can also bet with multiple coins.

He means that a deposit address is not completely anonymous, it*could* get traced back to someone.

As far as DirectBet is concerned betting is completely anonymous. Whether or not players want their winnings to be untraceable is up to them. We don't break the anonymity.

Sorry but I don't understand. Can you please clarify what's the issue with that ?

There are no accounts at DirectBet. All we know is your payout address, we do not have any other information on you (You can provide an e-mail address but it's optional).

He means that a deposit address is not completely anonymous, it*could* get traced back to someone. Also he means its not cool to advertise your site in another sites' thread Smiley

Loyalty points are tracked based on your payout address. This allows us to retain complete anonymity.
You don't even know what anonymity means, lol.

How does that work, so we know your Bitcoin address we will keep you completely anonymous
Lol that is a weird one.
Anyways still the JD thread what's with the other service discussion.

And why on earth go for an on-blockchain model? That has been out of fashion for a couple of years now. We don't want betting spam on the blockchain.

Yes, no need for a ton of transactions on the blockchain creating spam like when Satoshidice was still around there are other ways to approach that.

We are able to offer a dice game that is favorable to you, the players, thanks to the fact that we profit from sports betting, our main business. We do not relay on dice income for our daily operations.

So, if i got it right, actually you are saying'we dont give a fuck about dice, we will run it at loss since we win from sports.'
1. If you dont care about dice, simply stick to sports. Its better to provide one good product than lot of average products
2. Not relying to dice profit is one thing. Lose 50-100+ btcs in few minutes with the right players and the'wrong' edge is another.

Check out Direct Dice, it features no house edge for frequent bettors and 10 BTC Jackpot

"No house edge" is misleading. It seems to be a short term offer and only for very large players.

And if it is "completely anonymous", how are you going to know which bets are mine to track whether I'm a big player?

And why on earth go for an on-blockchain model? That has been out of fashion for a couple of years now. We don't want betting spam on the blockchain.

Actually, very large players have a small edge over the house.

They get a rebate of all the house edge through our VIP rewards program, and at the same time they are left freerolling on the 10 BTC Jackpot.

That's not a typo, that's our way to say thank you to our most loyal clients.

Even if you reach just the second VIP rewards level, the house edge once you factor in the VIP rebate and Jackpot is approx. 0.1%, which is one tenth of the standard house edge out there.

You can try this new player vs. player game www.cryptbubbles.com

I wouldn't. They've been spamming the chat of reputable dice sites every day for weeks.
