It is hard to explain. For people who belive in God He is the reason why the good things are happening to them. You know there are hard times when there is no one who can help you and then you are reaching for a change and for a God. Religion is truly something that holds you back from your independence and free will. Some restrictions are necessary but the agents of the religion use them to their advantage and use people whenever necessary and play politics in the name of God.
