Crypto Swap Exchange
Turning off my rentals and S7's, donkeys (employees?) on NH keep raising prices to rent even though price of bitcoin still hovering around ~$655, will wait and see what happens next

i cant believe NH is still up.. they have 20 PH/s of miners there that are literally throwing away bitcoin.

I don't want to turn this into a NH discussion, BUT as far as I can tell the miners I have pointed there as failover are not mining BTC.
That is unless the 2 700GHz Monarchs found 40+ blocks yesterday.
I only noticed because they failed from here to there, but for some reason never failed back. So I'm guessing more and more people are using them to mine alts.

The Antminers came back online here so I never saw the stats

That's why we rely on you kano-san (and -ck) to keep an eye on the backstage stuff!!

Agree - one of my main reasons why Kano, is that its managed by legends like Kano and CK - it cant get any better than that.

Being transparent in pool operations and discussing mature topics are also a big plus.

Last but not least, the frequent occasional friendly banter and awesome chicken themes are somewhat a good de-stresser too after a hard long day.

I am not that technical so I depend on their analysis and expertise - I even had to lookup what "fuxored" mean - I thought it was some outback swear word  Grin
Ha! I pretty much got the gist of "fuxored", but just to be sure I looked it up too  Grin

As much as I am a fan of the pool and kano, that is some deep 'brown nosing' right there...   Lol

I first heard it from a group called The End of Science; Fuxored is a track on one of their albums (can't remember which). However...I would have thought the same thing initially re Aussie swear word...  Undecided

Ooh La La, C'est Zoom!
Well, for anyone curious, it appears it was an arp table in some main router/switch/whatever at the data centre that was fuxored.
I have a number of VPS in the same place as the main bare metal hardware that is the main server in Vegas, and they were all ok during all this.
Though, that's my interpretation of the 'incomplete' reply about what was going on.
But, yeah arp tables are something that most people don't even know what they are, let alone work out that there's a problem with them Tongue

That's interesting that the VPS were not affected, but the bare metal server was. Sounds almost like it could have been a TOR switch/fex where your bare metal server is, and the error was propagated to their core.

Whee, lots of fun. I gave up troubleshooting that stuff about a year ago. This last year with out a portfolio of hardware to manage (a couple of small datacenters for my team) has been interesting. First time in over 20 years without some kind of hardware/lab to manage as part of my job.

Yup. That's really interesting, actually. I had a similar problem with the previous hosting contractor; the tech supervisor I was speaking with didn't know what I was referring to...not the serf in the chair, but the super...and when I mentioned Linux kernel he referred to me, and my intellect, in a rather derogatory gender-related manner (trying to be nice...youz guyz are all damn civil here  Smiley ).  As I've mentioned earlier, they are no longer my contractor.

...and...I agree with VRobb who just posted.

Mine on...

Have no idea why the thing with my browser, either...ain't gonna burn daylight trying to figure it out.

Quite likely a DNS issue, but not with @kano's servers. All that has to happen for you to get hosed up like that is that the DNS server you use get's a bad (possibly intentionally malicious) update and the addresses it provides are bogus.

Cheers,

- zed

Possible...but I doubt it. The DNS is with my hosting contractor (I run a mail server and host 11 other sites). Like I said, though...not worth spending time on.

EDIT: Just noticed (as I was scanning for used S9s from bailing miners) AriesIV10 is selling off his farm in WA...in situ. Good price, too. Wish I had $14.5K.

I have my backup at slushs and actually hit a block at about 184.3TH/s during our outage.  Some upside to our downside.

Still CKPool is the BEST pool for profitability and transparency!

I was there for that block. Good feeling, but I'm happy to be back.
