Now for the final May Avalon6 Giveaway competition details:

Details are 'relatively' the same as March and April ... and I'm adding another small incentive.

On each Sunday morning at 00:01 UTC in May (starting the 8th - lol which happens to be mother's day here) the leader at exactly that time, with the lowest CDF, will get my fee from the next 2 blocks found.

Adds up to a total of 4 new prizes totalling a bit over 1BTC for the month so it's not a lot, but anyway Smiley
... and it is actually 'possible' for one miner to win all four and one of the 2 final prizes.

March rules were here:
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.14042677

Should split the Sunday bonus between the high and low CDF holders  Wink I have absolutely no bias here

Repeat after me: There is nothing wrong with the pool. There is no way to game the system. The big pools can't do anything to small pools. There is no spoon conspiracy.

The only thing that's happened is a run of bad luck and fighting orphans with an overwhelmingly large pool.

Back to mining.

You are most assuredly not "that guy".  Your 4 S7s, even if by some strange occurrence were in fact misbehaving represent about 0.061% of the pool's hash rate.  If you had 400 S7s... well... even then you'd only be 6.1% of the pool.

I normally leave my miners on this pool, I like this pool, I like what it stands for, but when I was learning about this things work, I'd move my miners and boom a block from kano.

How can I tell if my miners are causing issues?

If we hit a block every time you move, by all means keep moving. I and the rest of the pool would really appreciate it and probably donate to you.  Wink

It's all random, my friend, no need to fret over it.  This is the place to be - set and forget!  Wink

I moved my 4 S7's over to bitmain.

it seems every time I move them kano hits a block!

I sure hope it's not my miners causing the issues.

I'm securely behind a firewall..could this really be a thing???

This is not a good place to talk about mining anywhere but on kano pool.  However, for the sake of bitcoin you should:

a) Mine on smaller pools.  Hashrate distribution is good for the bitcoin ecosystem, hashrate consolidation is bad for it.
b) Not hash on chinese pools.  And despite what the dude from fishpool might think, this isn't a racist comment.  More than half of the network hashrate is concentrated in a single country, a country which is known to have packet inspection filters which slow data transmission into and out of the country.  This is bad for bitcoin.  We happen to be talking about China but it would be true no matter what country it was.

Kspare, you will be much more successful picking a pool and staying put. Jumping around will just cost you money.

EDIT: it also adversely impacts your 5n whenever you leave.

Nope. Unless you missed a few zeros and have 4000 S7s withholding blocks...

Why everytime a pool hit bad luck the conspiracy theory go on. Hitting long bad block is just normal.

The only possible problem I see is what we have seen when the last orphan's race and F2Pool's admin declaration.

For the rest, trust Kano's skills. I'm sure we are in save hand.

Exactly...every time we start a new block we have the same chance of hitting a fast one or a long one.  We just happened to hit a couple of long ones in a weird grouping.  It will all work out and the good times will roll again!  Cheesy

Good point. I'm going back to my trusted rule. "Leave emotion out of mining"

Just part of the human condition.

Ease up on the rumor mill folks.  Kano has always been very forthcoming regarding any suspicious behavior on the pool.  He's also been kind enough to PM other pool operators, including myself, to let us know his findings so we can also take action.  Furthermore, he's running a lot of analytics behind the scenes to identify potential block withholding attacks.

Regarding the lost orphan race with f2pool, that is definitely still an open question.

So until Kano comes forward to declare there is any kind of foul play, it is safe to accept things are as they appear: shit luck.

I'm not one for conspiracy theories, with the orphans and f2pool this run of bad luck just seems a bit off to me. Myself and I assume most trust Kano and know we are in good hands.

Of course my two-day hash rental ran out about 3 hours before the last block was found. Angry

Two orphans and one confirmed block. What are the odds..... (No, I don't really want to know.)

That was a big waste of coins.

No more rentals until we turn green again and things return to some-what normal.  Cry

I'll have to be content with the three S7's pointed at the pool.

Good luck everyone.
