I think we need the pool restarts . LOL

Add them to restart 2x a day and we'll get ore solves.  Cheesy
* kano does a restart just for the sake of it ...
D: Why did I bother fixing bugs? I had regular unplanned restarts built into the code by virtue of bugs previously...

was ther a pool restart
No

I am seeking knowledge trying to determine if the s3s are a viable miner, work diff 515x accepted shares 4243=diff accepted 2,185,145 in five hours and 48 minutes how can it be deterrmined if it's worth running them, power co. vig is 0.15 cents per kwh. Smiley
Also note that work diff isn't relevant for determining how much BTC you will earn.
If you increase the work diff you will decrease the number of shares.

As for your actual earnings, well on a PPLNS pool that's dependent upon luck.
You will be able to calculate your average expected earnings, but your actual historical earnings are based on pool luck over the time you are mining and getting rewards.

Thanks, also i have pointed my s3 at this pool in the past and have done so again they no longer display best share and they did in the past, is that a bitmain firmware issue or isit time to park them Huh
Best Share doesn't matter as long as it's submitting work at the expected hash rate.

The old Bitmain cause is if it mines on a power of 2 difficulty.
e.g. if it is mining 512 diff shares.

Not sure if they tried to fix it and broke it more or not Tongue
If it matters to you, try using a different worker (e.g. username.s3) and set the mining diff to 515 in the web interface (Workers->Management) after it starts mining with the new worker name, to see if that helps.

Does that bug only affect bestshare display?
I imagine so - but I've not looked at the bitmain S3 code yet (that then became the bitmain code for S4, S5)

The luck lately is starting to get brutal.  I sure hope another good block party is about to happen to make up for it!

The average share is (as I mentioned above) somewhat pointless.

What matters is the Diff submitted.
i.e. Your Diff and Avg Hs

Avg Share relates to the type of mining devices you are using.
e.g. if the pool is deciding your worker diff and you have mostly 500GH/s devices then the average share will be roughly half of what it would be if you had mostly 1TH/s devices.
The number of devices doesn't affect that - 1000 S3s would still have an average lower than only mining with one S5
