Looks like the Bitcoin Cash folk are spamming up the mempool again ...

And like clockwork, Antpool is mining empty blocks when TX fees are rising:

Also Slush:

https://blockchair.com/bitcoin/block/519529

With block sizes now > 13 BTC - this folks, is why we mine at Kano pool!

Ooooooo I was unaware! I’ve seen the phrase regarding the name that shall not be mentioned. Great now I have another hour to spend on google to figure out why unless a kind pool user would like to give me the low down privately. I have a 36 hour drive to my collocation space to make, leaving in 15 min

Wait, you're going to drive for 36 hours to go to your collocation?  Crap, I could drive from the East Coast of Virginia to central Texas in 24 hours.  Could you not send your equipment via UPS or FedEX?  It might be cheaper than the gas you will have to buy! Even a plan ticket might be cheaper than driving for 36 hours and back! Grin

EDIT:  I could actually drive from the East Coast of Virginia to Vegas in 37 hours if I drove non-stop!  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Block!

Nice block, full of transaction fees! Cheesy

How do you all see this info?
Block size, "full of transaction fees" etcetera.
Im trying to understand blocks, but maybe i'm stupid, but the ice won't melt yet... Grin

By the way: where can i find all the adresses of the servers? (can't find em anymore... Different country's i remember but i dont see them.) I want to put backup servers as a second pool, so my miners won't switch to nicehash everytime they loose connection with Kano...

I believe these are the others I know . KANO please correct me if I'm wrong and I will edit my list!

There are other nodes located around the world that you may be closer to:
stratum+tcp://nya.kano.is:3333 (NewYork)
stratum+tcp://sg.kano.is:3333 . (Singapore)
stratum+tcp://nl.kano.is:3333 (Netherlands)
stratum+tcp://de.kano.is:3333 (Germany)
stratum+tcp://jp.kano.is:3333 (Japan)

As with the main stratum node, each of those nodes allows mining to port 3333, 80, 81, 443 and 8080

Yep it's listed in the first post Smiley
Below the giveaway info.

Yeah....
I was looking for it on the kano webpage. Didn't find it there, so i asked here.

Why does blocks only go back 88 and not like 100? Any reason for this odd number, or just kano's random choice?
I've soooo wondered about that as well as other pages seemingly going back to random row counts...
Coz 8 is considered lucky in China? Smiley
OK, changed it to 108.
The size is important though, since it's a public page anyone can view, I don't want too much data on it so that every random person accessing the web site requests a large web page.

As for the "100 Luck%" - that shows the luck for the last 100 blocks.
The current last 100 blocks includes a 928.788% and a 875.193% - so it's not really all that bad Tongue

As Carl mentioned, each new block kicks the block at 100 off the end to position 101,
so the change you see is the difference between block #1 and #101
In 18 blocks time "100 Luck%" will change rather drastically and again 3 blocks after that.

Wait, I thought Kano lived in European castle? Not Japanese castle on Kyushu? http://gaijinhijinks.com/wordpress/kumamoto/ shows him as volunteer guide for castle tours:

I tried to find a picture of Kano in the googles for like 20 min the other day. He's pretty good at making sure his picture isn't taken or real identity known.

Kano, do you feel like gracing the forum with a picture of yourself? Obviously i expect a no coming from a pool operator based upon a currency where one of it's main features is anonymity and a pool operator that allows miners to mine directly to an address rather than username, but i figured I'd ask all the same.

Unless it's as simple as You're Andrew Smith and not Con Kolivas.

If I'm right, this is the best likeness i could find of our supreme pool op

Hmmmm...I though this was Kano's picture... Cheesy

It's a quite good likeness.... but penguins, although depicted in almost all modern linuxture, aren't very good coders. Kanos top notch.

Call 811 before you dig
Thank you, BTClock BTCadger!! Love those fat BTClocks!!

I just added a little help to the pool - I've been waiting for one piece to arrive, and it showed up!

My first Avalon. Definitely easy for a noob to get hashing.
This will be up and down the rest of today - I'm going to try to get it to my host tomorrow.

Mine on!!!

Hey Kanoists, I've been on pool 24/7 at ~13.5+ TH/s -- since 7 April, so for 18 days . . .
But on zach's monitor https://ckpoolmonitor.zachmonroe.com -- Avg5Nd (TH/s) has been slowly increasing but is still at 9.59 TH/s. Am I misunderstanding how ramp up or zach's monitor works? Or am I doing something wrong and losing out on coin? Or is all good and I can go to bed. Thx
What does your kano.is > Worker > Shift Graph webpage show? After 18 days the whole graph should be filled with ~13.5 hashing (excluding failovers/outages).
Yeah, the shift graph has been very strange; it often shows nothing, but every so often what I'd expect: 13.5 all the way across. But the actual shift page shows me for every shift at ~13.5 TH/s. The miner itself shows no down time.
[edit:] checked again and it is as should be. I think it must be the Update button that I wasn't clicking :embarassed:

It must be a random amount that Kano chose to display one day.  When I first started it showed all blocks since the beginning and was that way for a couple of years at least.

Also, BTC is pseudonymous and not anonymous, unless you are careful and know what you're doing. Take care if you are treating it as anonymous.

Yeah I’m aware. Through usernames, emails, pool usernames and address ties it’s hardly anonymous unless you’re Kano style careful Smiley

Not sure about 3rd party monitoring, but I'd start with the kano.is website and your miner's cgminer status.
