The KarlsenHash algorithm is now supported on NiceHash!
We are pleased to announce the introduction of a new algorithm on NiceHash! From now on, you have the opportunity to sell or buy mining power on the KarlsenHash algorithm, which is used to mine the Karlsen coin.

https://www.nicehash.com/blog/post/karlsenhash-is-now-supported-on-nicehash

This means that there will now be no profit from mining the coin Smiley

How to change or incert 24 word phrase to phrase of 12 words wallet? or i need to create new wallet with 12 word phase and try to transfer from 24 wallet to 12 wallet?
On the first page there is a link to the official website, and there you will find a link to the discord. This issue has been discussed and the community will give you an answer to this question.
If you have a console wallet, then it is easier for you to send your coins to a new GUI wallet.

Karlsen Desktop
First version of Karlsen Desktop with Karlsen Network support.
https://github.com/karlsen-network/karlsen-desktop/releases/tag/v1.0.0
"Enabled Dutch, Finnish, German Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Turkish and Ukranian translations to Windows installer.
Changed listen port from 7000 to 8110 to allow concurrent usage of KDX and Karlsen Desktop.
Changed homedir from ~/.kdx to ~/.karlsen-desktop to not interfere with KDX.
Added separate tree item in the main dashboard with the copyright information. Karlsen Desktop is a fork of KDX and KDX license status is unclear.
Added Karlsen Network UX/UI changes, color palette, logos and icon set.
Replaced sips with convert and iconutil with png2icns to work on Linux as primary development environment.
Replaced @aspectron/process-list with @karlsen/process-list module. Original one is quite old and doesn't compile on latest gcc-13 anymore.
Updated nwjs to 0.78.1 to fix rendering artifacts with certain checkboxes.
Removed CPU and GPU karlsen-miner and node CPU karlsenminer from the desktop wallet.
Removed Kasparov and console code from the desktop application. It isn't needed for end-users and they cannot handle issue investigation and debugging without help."

Next week Karlsen will roll out a test of the new mining algorithm KarlsenHash V2, which is based on the algorithm developed by Lolminer - Fishhash
The team will also be thinking about implementing a miner for processors!
Thanks to this transition, it is planned to get rid of ASICs and reduce the performance of FPGAs compared to video cards!

Mining karlsencoin(KLS) for everyone!

Karlsen Faucet sends Karlsen to anyone requesting.

It has a defined address, where you can send or mine Karlsen. If the faucet address has enough Karlsen, it will send it to an address you provide.

Faucet can receive funds at the following address:

karlsen:qptwccmajlgeeqclehyr7w8uqeyx0jtctd53j4p9s4v0k0v9a6pjyfglrhdq2

Requests are limited to the maximum of 0.05 KLS per IP address, per 24 hours.

You currently have 0.05 KLS available.

i wouldnt expect karl would hold ton of gpu miner, its just passing by and gone in couple weeks/months. miners need some real big cap coin to handle million gpus out there which is almost imposible this day
only bullrun a real answer for gpu miner. Cheesy
The number of mined coins does not depend on the number of miners, but now not a single coin can give a million miners a good profit. But the project team does not want ASICs to work in mining, and therefore some video cards will remain to mine this coin.

Karlsen is moving towards an algorithm change

We are glad to announce karlsend update to v1.1.0 which was initially planned for December 31, 2023. It includes a series of important fixes and enhancements, notable changes:

1. Added more DNS seeders to improve and stabilize sync from scratch.
2. Fixed critical RPC bug and rebased the Kaspa fix for it.
3. Introduced aarch64 node builds.

It's worth noting that this marks the initial phase of our algorithm modification plan set for Q1/2024. During this period, a variety of algorithms will undergo testing on a public testnet. The team at Karlsen Network has put forward FishHash as our proposed solution, and we openly invite members of our community to either suggest or create their own GPU-compatible algorithms. These submissions will be evaluated by the community and considered for inclusion on the list of algorithms up for voting. This update is optional but for pool operators it is highly recommended due to the RPC fix.

This update is a crucial step towards the release of the Karlsen Faucet which is needed to get free coins for upcoming public testnet and the Karlsen KDX which relies on improved sync infrastructure.

The next version v1.2.0 milestone due date is set to January 31, 2024 and will include more fixes, automatic PR testing with GitHub workflows, x86_32 fixes and kick off for public testnet.

You can download the release from our GitHub page at: https://github.com/karlsen-network/karlsend/releases/tag/v1.1.0

What would you put your heart to wear to mine?

White paper says this coin will be gpumining only but who knows. Let's hope. It seems this coin was created based on kaspa GhostDAG protocol. I recommend this project for long term at the moment, other algo that I recommend at this moment is kawpow, coins mainly, xna, rvn, mewc.

Interesting activity is expected on this coin(XNA) in Q1 2024. If you are mining the kawpow algorithm, you might want to consider switching your equipment to mine this coin in order to sell it in the 1st quarter of next year.
This applies more to owners of AMD video cards. Nvidia has more interesting coins for mining.

Is anyone still mining it?

According to MiningPoolStats around 35,000 miners are still on it.

I still have a few rigs on it right now. It is not as profitable as it was, but I think there is a rebound coming up.

But there is another threading here about that coin. Today it came out on trade over. It started at $5 and dropped to 12 cents at the moment of posting.

This is a Karlsen thread, so you guys should take discussions about the other coin to its own thread.

Regarding the $5 starting price, that type of thing happens a lot with new coin listings on exchanges. Those exchanges have real low minimums so it was probably a test trade to try and set some type of high bar. The actual trade could have been 0.1 of a coin meaning a $0.50 trade to print the $5.00 you all seem to go on about.

Pyrin was added to the Nonkyc exchange
https://nonkyc.io/market/PYI_USDT
Instructions for mining Pyrin have been added to k1pool
https://k1pool.com/pool/pyrin/how-to-start

A miner I know has a mining rig with 5 4090 video cards. He boasted that he earned 1000 dollars in a few days of mining, because he started mining at the very beginning, when he found out about the coin.

Now that would be great. It will turn out to be the life support of GPU mining and maybe something more. Who knows 🤷

But there is another threading here about that coin. Today it came out on trade over. It started at $5 and dropped to 12 cents at the moment of posting.
I asked the miners, and on average they sold for 13-20 cents. 5 dollars was the price when the coins could not be sent to the exchange. I sold this coin for 12.5 cents.
There is a discussion going on in the discord about a new mining algorithm. It is possible that the rumors about ASICs are true.
