Honestly, I can't say that I do know of a great application for ethereum smart contracts. Other than these 3 coins I think Monero has potential, and maybe Dogecoin. What other coins are on your radar that are not in the top 100? There are literally over 5 thousand different types of crypto currencies created out of thin air, its insane! Coins fall off the cap every day, in recent years of course regulations have become more strict and the addition of new coins has been less.
My radar says that you, like the majority, choose coins to hold based on market speculation and intuition, not on the potential in the tech behind the project. I can agree with you that Monera is promised coin due to its unique caracteristics  being anonymous, fast, and secure. However, i can't find the reasons why you picked Doge Coin which is almost a useless coin after being left by its community Devs.
I suggest you to take a look at tokens developed at top of Mimble Wimble protocole like Grin, i ensure you that you will be fascinated by them instead of all the shits in the actual market.

I’m curious now that this post has aged a bit what you think of Monero and Doge now? I ended up holding on everything and they’re doing okay. Wish I actually bought Doge when I mentioned in my response to you lol I’ve actually never owned any.

I don't want to comment about XRP, because I have taken a negative viewpoint against that coin ever since I became active in the world of cryptocurrency. But regarding NEO and ADA I'm a bit more optimistic. I am grouping these two currencies together, since they are similar (NEO and ADA). NEO is having one of the best codes and algorithm for any cryptocurrency and although it has dropped out of the top-10 list, I am 100% sure that it will make a comeback sometime in the future.

Eth and Neo are good to hold but XRP is not good investment for me because as you can see the price is not improving unlike ethereum the price is slowly increasing and possible it will reach $300 this year.

Yes, ethereum and neo are good but don't forget xrp can back to increase again. Maybe xrp needs more time to increase and make another ATH after the other altcoin surge, but I think with the price still at a low price, many people want to buy more xrp. Ethereum will have the biggest chance to increase in the next bull run because ethereum has big support so far, but that will depend on how good bitcoin price moves this year.

Diversifying is a good strategy when investing not only in crypto.

For me bitcoin is my top priority when I invest in crypto because btc already prove that its worthy to hold either for short or long term. So I will allocate huge portion to btc in my overall capital.

On the other side eth is top altcoin and like btc it is already here for years and manage to survive in bearish trend thus these two coins are my choices.

maybe I'll take your advice, but I'll change it a little. I might leave ETH to hold, and the rest will be converted to BTC.

If you feel more comfortable holding Eth together with Bitcoin it's better doing that, your own analysis will convert positive results to your investment.

Well, we all have our own perspectives on potential altcoins. so far, I believe ETH will provide a high price for its hold in the future. so, for now, I might hold ETH and leave the others.

Make your decision according to how you manage your research, lower risk as long as you are knowledgeable with the assets that you'll going to support.

It doesn't hurt if you turn the three coins into bitcoin but for me personally will keep holding it and will even continue to buy when there is the right moment, different perceptions about XRP and other coins don't matter if we remain confident because after all, we who do hold and we are ready with the risk. So it is enough to do what we believe because after all the price of each coin in the crypto market will definitely reach an all time high again, be patient.

Just hodl isn't useful nowadays. Considered structured deposits, or staking on eth in the future
It doesn't make sense if you are holding shitcoins but if you are holding ETH, BTC, or any potential coins, it's kinda worthy of it. Of course, we ha choice and that holding are also a matter of the capability we have, but if we don't have patience and can't really manage to keep it, it will always give you trouble.

I understand the high-risk in holding for we don't know what will happen next. But we have an option to take its either a short-term or long-term holding. But for sure, most crypto holders will choose short-term as we know how volatility is getting worse at this time

I of course had to have some of my coins diversified. But more recently I've thought of converting all three of these cryptos I own into BTC & only holding Bitcoin. I do like ETH and think that the smart contracts are great and there is a lot to build on. XRP is completely hated by the crypto community, but even if they deemed it a security the asset would probably still increase in value. NEO is Chinese and could see huge upside if adopted in that region. But Bitcoin, oh man, Bitcoin is going to the freaking moon. I'm convinced. What do you guys think about these 3 cryptos ? Can't wait to see the feedback on this lol.

These two coins have been continuously dumped since the last bull run. There is no accurate calculation of how many investors have lost their funds by investing in these coins. I don't think it will be profitable to hold these two coins. Because investors are now more interested in Bitcoin than altcoin. You may see suddenly pumps and dumps on these coins, but this makes it difficult for you to make a big profit.

As per the basics of investment rule of diversification, you must hold variety of coins so that you can escape if anything unexpectedly happen. Just to stay within the basics investment rules, I am doing like 90% of my investment into bitcoin and only for the rest of 10% I am going for other altcoins. It means I will never suggest anyone to go for holding only bitcoins. But, you may hold bitcoins in major portion of your portfolio.

In this way we may miss out some good coins which will be having rapid growth but at the same time considering how many people are getting disappointed after investing into altcoins, it would be much better to keep our investment for altcoins up to only 10%.

This is sometimes called like taking calculated risk. Yes, we are going as per the diversification rule still we are going risk free as well.

According to the new Weiss rating what was published few days ago the best cryptocurrencies are for now: Ethereum followed by Cardano and IOTA. If you do not know about Weiss rating, they rate cryptocurrencies based on their adoption, development progress, etc.

You did a great decision from converting all into BTC.
Not all have the same courage as yours.

IMO, I would still keep my ETH and XRP.
I would not even hesitate to sell them for something else.
Let's say I have still high hopes to those two that one day it will be more valuable.

I believe the three coins above will be profitable for the future because the transaction volume increases every day, so if we want to invest in altcoin then the three coins are very appropriate, but if you are still in doubt then bitcoin is more appropriate.

XRP volume is much higher than at any time in history plus WhaleAllert tweeted about big transfers from the OTC market to unknow wallets recently. So something is happening, I would closely watch XRP in next few weeks, I am not talking that it is a good coin, but it can provide a good return in a short period of time.

I put ETH and NEO on the table to be consider if I was you. Both clearly have a chance and back up by a huge number of applications and community users. While XPR is going downhill with nothing new to offer and more and more users seem to try to sell their bag and get out.

Portfolios diversification is a good step in the right direction when you do it the right way.

When it comes to eth, xrp, neo, only you can decide if holding is favorable because only you knows when you invested amongst other important details
Yes, the decision in general is really in each of us in terms of choosing tokens for holding, and of course everyone will choose the best so they can benefit in the future, if asked to me personally, all three tokens are equally good for holding, although I often have just two tokens in between, because I rarely buy Neo tokens even though Neo is also a good token.

This is really not a bad choice as of the moment since we aren't experiencing any “altcoin season” during this time I think diversification is non-existent as of the moment and most of the crypto you mentioned is following the movement of the market leader which is Bitcoin. One thing to note in your situation is will it be worth it in terma of cost on selling your altcoins in exchange for BTC? If you don't worry about incurring a little fee and you are looking to manage lesser crypto in your portfolio I think it will be a good choice for you.

I think so too, the alts are following BTC very closely, you rarely see them not paired up nowadays. I think the fee would be minimal. Better to do it on Bittrex or Binance though? Which one has lower fees associated with crypto conversion. Also, this is unfortunately a taxable occurrence according to US regulations 🤦‍♂️ What was I thinking? 🤣  I should have stuck to my gut and stayed with Bitcoin all the way ⚖️.

Yes you are right you this will be a taxable transaction whether it is buying or selling as long as you are trading in the USA, if I am correct you must record 4 transactions here the 3 sell orders you have for ETH, XRP, and NEO and the buy order you will have for BTC not unless your exchange has a pairing BTC on all three of them then you'll just record the 3 sell orders. When it comes to big exchanges I know that they are always at par when it comes to commissions and fees the only difference you need to look for is what exchange is offering a lower price for Bitcoin so you can maximize the money you will gain from selling your altcoins.

IMO, all the 3 altcoins have its potential, you do your research because if I would choose, I would choose to hold all 3, at least if one will pump, you'll be able to enjoy the profit, and at the same time, you will be able to do the diversification of funds which is well recommended when investing.
indeed all three have very good hopes to be able to get a profit you only need to hold only 1 coin, ethereum alone is enough to save and be used for long-term trading methods while for other short-term trading only for XRP which is still possible to make a profit.
