The default SMF theme, as seen here, is terrible. It was terrible when it came out, and it still is. However, looking at the beta software, it's no real improvement. Yes, it's mobile friendly. But for something that's been in development for 3.5 years, it could be a lot better.

The current Theme is good but if you decide to introduce new themes there is no objection by me.

Beside of this being proven and ingenious, this will also be a great help to others.

Though I haven't been here for long but I do like this theme.

You can browse for hours or even days and it's ok. most forums (99%) suck at this and serious eye damage is the result.

This is so true!

Yes do keep the current theme as most people are used to it, but looking forward to see new options too.

I'm pretty sure it will be awesome when launched!  Smiley

So far I prefer current one as well.
It has all features I want/need from a forum, to spend a lot of time browsing and reading.

Keep the old style, and best keep the old forum.

The new forum is a JS heavy eye-soaring mess Huh
Considering the fact the new forum development is never coming to an end,I'm convinced we will be using the old forum forever. You are right about the new forum Js heavy mess but that;s the tech of the future and no one wants to use those static slow ass features anymore.Functionally,it works great! User experience, terrible. We need to migrate!

I'm a strong believer in the SMF Forum theme that we have here on Bitcointalk.org now because I think it is time proven, classic, and ingenious.

It should not be changed.

What do you think?
Are you one of the moderators? I don't really understand why you're discussing the background mechanics of the Forum. If you are one of the people that owns this forum or one of the people that have been Straits to it perhaps you should keep your discussion behind the scenes where the users aren't going to see it.

The fact that the new forum beta has already been released and the interface is quite advanced than that of SMF is a strong reason we should move on.We can change the colour scheme to match this one but it is generally not a good idea to do so.I love the new theme and advanced UI components. With all due respect,I hate the idea of sticking to the same theme designed back in the day when technology was limited in scope.

Dark themes are better because they don't tire eyes but there can be 2 options, dark and white one.

(Although I would like a Dark theme Wink)

If the software is designed properly, it should be trivial for each user to select their own theme.

I like this theme because it is simple, doesn't take forever + a ton of JS to load, and isn't filled with useless white-space. As long as the new forum is like this, I have no problem with however it is designed. (Although I would like a Dark theme Wink)

I'm comfortable with the current layout and colours.

Yes. So am I. This design is time proven and it just works.

Please don't change the SMF theme or if you absolutely need to make it an option to enable it again.

Same i support the current theme and would see it in the next version of the forums

I definitely prefer dark themes but this one is fine I guess but If we were to do this, we had to do it long time ago, before even starting the development because It's too late now. I mean why spending money for building a forum software from scratch while we could've just keep this one (for theme etc.) and simply add the new features.
