spreadsheets are fine to keep track of mine investments
although, sometimes I'm lazy to write everything down and just put approximate numbers

Ah yes great spreadsheets. But  do you have a downloadable excel files to be used in crypto trading? I am looking for this one as I want to consolidate my coins. I am too lazy and not even having an accounting of it.

see how i grow my btc from time to time, its really needed for us traders to keep our money in a good inventory so we can see which is which

Hoping I can get some suggestions as to what people are using to keep track of their investments when buying Bitcoin, Altcoins, etc.
Are you putting things in an Excel spreadsheet/ Google document?
Are there programs that you are using to keep track of what you invested?
Do you remember everything in your head?
I know some exchanges have a buy history but some do not or don't have a very easy to use interface.

I only trade with a small amount of Bitcoin and several Alt-coins, but I need to stay organized and keep track of my investments.

i am not make any spreadsheet like excel or google document right now but i think i should make one so i can track my activity on bitcoin. and i think i don't remember for what i am doing in trading, but i think i have the complete trading activity that i do in polo so i just need to download the file and see what i made before. fortunately, in polo we don't have to pay anything to complete the history of trading and we can download it for free.

I don't use spreadsheet or program for keeping track of my investment on bitcoin or another coins, because i have made investment into trading altcoins on poloniex and there is fitures for calculating about that, so it is more simple than i have to make spreadsheet for calculating about my investment.

I built a simple web application to keep track of my coins.

I've made it available for anyone to use, so please try it out and let me know what you think;

    https://www.blockfol.io/

It's quite basic, for now, but I've got some ideas for ways to develop it.

I use excel spreadsheets to keep track of and organize my investments. It's also the way I can tell how much profit I make on a trade and how much profit I make per day. etc.

for other investment (not bitcoin/altcoin related) i have spreadsheet in excell if necessary but mostly i have it in mind since it is only 1 or 2 investments.

but for trading i don't really keep anything these days, i did it in the beginning to keep track of everything and learn at the same time but now i only look at my total balance on bittrex wallet and how it changes. and if i need some history i export the .CSV file that is available from my orders tab.

For details about my transactions I use the exchange stats, then I write down profits/losses on my diary. Keep tracking of crypto old school style Cool

I use a very simple excel sheet.

I simply put in: date --> pair --> buy/sell --> amount coins --> current fiat value

It makes it very easy to track your trades if you don't have too much trades, otherwise it would require just more typing work.

I simply look at the sum, and when I bought off my initial investment, I'm running free  Tongue

To have a record of your trade is a good idea so that you could keep up and organized. I like this way, sooner I'll be making my record.Since I am new and not started trading yet.

you must do whatever you feel is best for you.
i did an excel sheet for a while and i think it is the best and easiest way of keeping track of what you are investing and your trades (profit and loss for each and total) it is all about the way you put in the formulas.

so if you are good with excel go for it.

however i have moved on to a bot (my own) and i made that take care of everything for me now.

Nooo, I'm just trading cause I like to have fun some times. I don't do it with big figures, and I don't need record's of my trading, for that I use history of trades too see what I did.
I'm not so much for keeping records, I didn't find myself in trading, I do it cause it's like some game for me, I pick coins on luck and little research here on forum, so there is no purpose for me to do that kind of things, it's for professionals who invest a lot.

I don't use any special application or toole. I'm not so active in trading so more or less I have data in my head or in some simple notes. But from time to tim is good to review the story of trading so that you can easier predict the future.

I suppose my jotter is sufficient for me to keep track of all my trading ventures - it's not much to start with.
The jotter allows me to revise things without having to switch on the computer.

how i can use ledger, you can share about use ledger

The gist of it is that you write your transactions to a plain text file in a certain format and then use ledger to generate reports. Read the Reddit post I linked to for a short introduction and the Ledger documentation for details.
