Why so expensive @ 10k

And they told us Scrypt is ASIC resistant?
Who's "they"? Were any of these developers or just people randomly saying stuff online?

I predict more coins in the future will be based on algorithms even more ASIC resistant so GPUs would still be the best way to mine those while making a competitive profit.
they already have skein, scrypt-n, groestl, etc. coins

@23:30 GMT+1 : "there are only 2365" ... yeah, it's going to be a crazy summer for scrypt Wink

interestingly the 2365 number hasn't moved

Sounds good but pre-order is not acceptable to be honest. If delivered in December then my 100 Gridseeds will have been mining for 10 months already and made more than $10k.......

I will take a look when they have a prototype......

That is quite the assumption on current payout. In another 2 months we could be making .002btc/ghash

Im Guessing by the time the 100mhs is in - the first 100 people "May" get the benefit of it but only for 2 weeks, For example:  If and ONLY if which it will not be at todays difficulty but if for some miracle it were, it will net around 300US per day..... Now back to reality, by the time it gets delivered, diff will would have naturally increased and it will probably be down to 150-200 a day, and then each day after, it will drop much quicker so by the end of the 2 weeks it will be down to around 80 Per day.. then 50 etc...

Lets not forget we have multipools, like waffle, middlecoin, clever etc etc now that are going to smash the hell out of all the alt coins... This game is a never ending game of cat n mouse... kinda over it...

Exactly what I was thinking, When all these pre-orders have been released the LTC Diff will increase that much that the 100mhs LTC mining will be equal to 10 Mhs MIning today.

I already posted this on litecointalk, but It's worth posting it here too.

The only real question is, will it support scrypt 2048/4096 (or greater) ?
If it's only for basic scrypt 1024, then it's only for litecoin as any currently maintained alt will go the 2048 way.

There's probably 3000 titan for order in total (2400 when I looked a few hours ago).
It means at least 300GH/s more on the LTC network. If it were on the market tomorrow, that would bring the diff up to 20k at least. At 20k, 100 MH/s will give you a mere 5 LTC per day, or ~$85 at current price. With VAT you'd ROI the titan in 5 months at best. And it's only with a 20k constant diff, which will not be the case at all.

So the most probable is that it will very much never ROI. Of course LTC can double or triple in price, but it just means you'd better use your money to buy LTC directly.

If you want to know how many TITAN are left, just try to order a TITAN on their site, and when you can select the quantity, just increase it to 3000. You'll have the message in red "there are only 2365" (was 2405 2 hours ago).

WOW   Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked

$30M pre-orders?

Do you think 100mh/s is realistic ?

If it is the case, Alpha technology is dead given their prices

If anyone can do it, it will be KNC...they build mining monsters and have a pretty good track record so far as pre-orders go.

I can't speak for KNC myself, but Alpha-T released the following in response to their competition...

From Alpha Technology...

"Hey folks!

We would like to assure you we are very aware of our competitors hash rates and pricing and intend to match them, we started development in May 2013 and are on schedule to ship in July giving us the clear lead. During development we decided to make our units larger and upgradable so we could accommodate increased hash rates with ease, we gave ourselves this leeway for a variety of reasons. And the announcement of Scrypt miners from competitors was of course one such reason that we anticipated and planned for. A full announcement with details on our new batch 1 hash rates will be released very soon!"

Any Group Buys for this yet??

I'm poor so I can't afford to risk $10K but I wouldn't mind getting some GB shares.

Bro if you have 100 Gridseeds now you don't need this.
You are mining for LTC already at very good hashing rates Smiley

Takes up a lot of space, but my point is that I am no longer willing to gamble $$$$$ on stuff that may be produced at some point in the future. KNC need more money for the datacentre, but I am not willing to lend it to them at 0% interest......

Did they even deliver the sha-256 miners?

Yes. I have 6 module Juniper from October 2013, hashing at 938Gh/s stable. 930W power draw.

1w/GH at wall is quite impressive!

Were they delivered on time?
How much did they all cost?
ROI?

Are you like, brand new to bitcoin?
KNC were the first to the market.

Actually I am one of the stupid ones that mined some coins back in 2010 and deleted the software  Undecided
(They were worthless back then and a waste of time/money - or so it seemed)

Then I recently got back into it when I could actually afford an ASIC as the CPU/GPU doesn't cut it anymore.

BTW wasn't Avalon the first in the market?

Sorry, I misspoke. Yes, Avalon were the first. KNC were the first 28nm ASIC in the market and weren't months late on their first shipments.
