Yeah hey let's all discuss your two KnC's back and forth, sales prices, everything while you lean back and take a comfortable seat. Not like this is an auction, anyways.
Sorry but I have been following this for a couple of days and it's getting pretty laughable.

Just keep the miners and mine with them. Don't waste your time here on the forum as you won't find people who are willing to overpay.

This. Or go to Ebay. They're being sold for about 12k each there.

No, this is not an auction. Auctions have an END TIME; this does not. This is a bait thread while you wait patiently for progressively bigger idiots with more money than brains to come by and bid up your shiny metal boxes.

Just end this already by accepting that guy's 40btc bid or move this "auction" thread to the computer hardware section where it rightfully belongs.

Enjoy your free bump, and as always, have a nice day!

I agree, he's obviously just baiting trying to get a sky-high real offer. Even based on conservative numbers, these might return 40BTC in the next 6 months. If very lucky.

You guys... you really crack me up Grin  Now what is that expression again...?  Oh yes, LMFAO. 1Th of Bitfury?  How many boards will I have to sellotape together to get that going?  That's what I meant by:

>>clunky, complicated, geeky and held together with bits of string like some radio shack kit from the past.

Will you also supply a full time assistant to troubleshoot it for me and make sure it keeps going for longer than 5 minutes and fix it every time it stops?

Oh sorry, forgot about your point on hashfast and cointerra -  got a bit distracted there checking on my BTCitcoin balance as the KNC miners have earned me a few new coins in the time this auction has been running -  so hashfast and cointerra's products are about to be delivered any day now are they?  Oh good.  Excellent news.  Anyone remember BFL?

Sorry, got to stop now or I may just laugh so much that I soil my underwear...

I'm new round here but I think there are other threads for opinions and comments, however pointless.  This one, I think, is for auctions.  Still, I shouldn't complain... every time someone jumps in to express their progressively more idiotic opinions, my auction gets bumped again so real people get to see it.

As I was saying.  Auction.  1Th/s of KNC Jupiters.  Nice shiny new ones.  Available now.  Works.  Anthing else = BS.

he's right, in fact 1.3th to be precise... and 1th for about 20btc.. same wattage? well these are bitfury and one custom asic 0.7 j/gh  Grin link? well look it up yourself... Grin

so yes knc is not the only leading manufacturer with their "network protection BS" so far... besides once hashfast starts dumping first batch, followed by cointerra and difficulty shoots through the roof you'll be seeing more knc miners going under 10btc... 40 is not insane it's dumb..

actually 40 is insane, right now i can get well over 1TH/s for under that with other stuff...

really? link? at same wattage?

Let's see... in the end the market decides price and only the buyer and seller finally determine what something's worth.

This has been an interesting day or two for me with plenty of people willing to suggest that the units not worth what people are bidding for them.  That plainly doesn't make sense.  Any bidder will have calculated value for themselves and will make an offer that they think is high enough to make me sell, and low enough for them to get a good or fair deal and a profit.

What's made it particularly interesting is that we all know that nobody else is actually selling or has recently sold any of these units for anything less than the kind of bids we're at now... in fact most have gone for 30-50% more.

There is little else available in truth beside the KNC units -  and everyone wants them because you just plug them in and that's it.  They work.  And those others that are available at present are clunky, complicated, geeky and held together with bits of string like some radio shack kit from the past.

Your caution on scammers is a useful reminder though.  I'm looking for a rare deal -  though these are some what more common in the real world away from bitcoin -  an honest seller who is selling exactly what he says he is, is willing to prove it, and a buyer who just wants to pay and get his goods.

I'm sure I'll find that... or be happy keeping the units.

i would be extremely careful with any offer that high. they might attempt to scam. I do reccomend you take the offer though. 40 seems good.

Allinvain... How does one get to be a 'Hero member' round here... by being a bit rude and dismissive towards new members and telling them 'not to waste their time on the forum'...? nice touch.  Grow up a bit.  If you don't want to bid then feel free not to.

The very definition of any trade, bargain, sale or deal is that nobody can possibly overpay.  Any reasonably intelligent individual will pay what they calculate to be fair or good value for an item.  And any seller will only accept what they consider to be a fair or good price.  What you, or any other party who has no interest in the trade or bargain thinks or would class as being over or underpayment is pointless.

Specifically on values for mining equipment, you may of course have a forecast (guess) as to what the likely yield or return will be for a given item.  Why would you imagine that your guess as to, specifically here, how many BTC a given miner will produce (your guess on likely future hash rates) is superior to some other party's guess... perhaps someone who might be a genuine bidder?  Is that potential bidder stupid (and so would therefore 'overpay' if they did bid) because they disagree with you?

You seem also to have missed the very core of the clear and more intellectual and relevant point here.  You feel, I guess, that 30 or 40 or 50 BTC is too much because USD/BTC is currently $780 USD.  Would 100 BTC suddenly be a great deal if USD/BTC crashed to $50 USD?  What about $5 USD?  If you are buying a miner in BTC and will get your yield in BTC then it matters not whether BTC is $1 or $1,000,000.

Perhaps you would kindly now allow us to return to the point.  This is an auction thread.  So I'd guess the only people who really should be posting are those who wish to bid or who have questions directly relating to the auction.

I guess, as human beings, we all think in the same flawed way... and much as we know it's about BTC, a high or low BTC price immediately makes us switch back into thinking about USD.

I know the USD/BTC rate has got quite high over the last week or so (though it has been as low as $500 in the last 24 hours) but for me this is a deal about BTC... if I keep the units and mine, I get BTC.  If you buy the units, you get BTC.  Your profit (or ROI as some here describe it) is in BTC.

Of course back to the frailty of the human psychology and, if we acknowledge this, I suppose it depends on where you got your BTC... if you have it, great.  Most people weren't selling at $100 and still aren't selling at $700... so it is what it is.  If you don't and have to buy it and say at $700 then that's down to where you believe the price will be next week, or in a month I guess and I guess this is where that kind of thinking comes in.

As I said, for me it's is the mining hardware cost in BTC worth what you expect to mine in BTC.  At 35 BTC I'd just keep the units and mine and be way ahead on the deal... regardless of whether BTC is $1 or $1,000,000.
