We will have a large Technical announcement coming next week. Where we will give even more accurate Power figures and GH/s.

It will be a significant announcement which I hope will make all of our customers happy. and no before you ask I wont reveal any details before that newsletter goes out Smiley
Waiting to hear, when does the newsletter go out?
Wait, when did KNC become legit? I always thought they were another start-up-scam-of-the-week.
If you spend all your time in BFL threads, you miss things.  Shocked

again please don't buy a 1200W power supply you simply will not need one that powerful or expensive.

Tease, sounds like more GH and/or less W, either of which is good Smiley

Wasn't buying anything until nearer the time, was just pointing out with the cost of the unit and low power usage means no point compromising on PSU quality

Corsair all the way, been faultless on all my rigs.

Saving a few dollars on a cheaper makes, or getting a lower powered one that 'should' do is silly, or a lower powered one to get it into the 'optimal zone' is going to save just a fraction short of f*** all.

Buy a big one, then relax Smiley

AX1200 seems good given currently released specs.

Corsair doesn't sell the AX1200 Gold anymore. It got improved and was replaced by the AX1200i Platinum.

Here's a link for those following along:

this info could be relevant, quite dated though:

Yes, it's outdated, it's from 2010.

to my understanding, the jupiter devices will not come with a PSU? what brands and models are you guys looking into and why? KNC says jupiter will consume less than 1000W of power, so - is there really a difference between using a 1000W PSU and a 1200W PSU? anything below 1000W PSU for jupiter is going to damage the device?

This was my plan:

It's not like they won't publish a recommended PSU list...

Weapon of choice :
Corsair AX1200i
  • 80 PLUS Platinum Efficiency
  • Digital Signal Processor (DSP)
  • Active Power Factor Correction (PFC)
  • Universal AC input from 90~264V
  • Over-voltage, under-voltage, over-current, and short circuit protection
  • Self-test switch to determine PSU functionality even before installation
  • Seven year warranty

With that PSU, your sure you won't have any problems.

I'm not that familiar with the difference between the Gold and Silver ratings.  Assuming close to max load, how much would you predict saving (%) using the Gold over silver?

Assuming the Jupiter comes in under power estimates, and the difference isn't that great, it might make sense going with your suggestion.

I've been using these on my rigs the past couple years.  They are the best 1000 imho.

They say 950 but come about 1080 out of the box.  Quiet, Single Rail.

I'm not sure if I'm going to move them over to the Jupiters, but am thinking about it.  Will need to grab a couple more  Wink

I'm pretty sure that is the psu in the Mars video.

I'm sure it was Corsair.

I would consider waiting as 1000W is a margin, and KNC may have power usage as low as 700-800 watts on the finished product.  No point in buying something before it is necessary anyways...
