Quick question can you post an image of it looks like with the lid on? Or doesn't it have a lid?

Here is a good album that you can check out.

Can you clarify how these work as far as:

1) do they need to be connected to a computer, or do you merely access thru an ip address?

2) do you need your own power supply? (I have two decent ones I can use already.)

I have a somewhat early order, but figured I would figure this stuff out once I got it.  :-D

Thats a good permanent solution. Thank you for the link.

I will first try and see if it helps before going full custom.

NP ! fans are my bag, been through so many types when finding the best for my watercooling setup. highest 140mm fan I've seen pushes 140CFM - Yateloon D14SH-12 http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=36_316&products_id=27361

I touched those VRM modules, they are very hot, so some kind of cooling should be provided, but the case fan is too weak, not even match the avalon's 120MM fan, but so far I have not find a 140mm fan providing enough airflow, they are all weak and quiet case fans

I agree. I have a few spare avalon fans that I will be swapping with the two front fans.

This is the improved results with just the case cover removed and an external fan blowing air over all the components.

sorry for bothering you again but I have to restate my two questions

so you're going to replace this two front fans (http://i.imgur.com/DrBQn0G.jpg), right?

what is the exact type/model/brans of the avalon fans you're referring to?

thanks

I make reference to it

here https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.2595714

and here

and will use these fans for the test found  here

This is only a result of the firmware upgrade  Roll Eyes And that 15% hardware error rate is scaring Shocked

Here is an update with comparable results from original firmware and airflow to the new Setup and Firmware v0.93.

So far no cgminer restarts.

This is results with still open case and single fan placed on top of unit facing down to dissipate heat off the boards.

How can you mount 120mm fan on 140mm holes?

I will have to use tie wraps just to test how the increased cfm helps cool the unit.

Nice to see you right up there with the first to get hardware Sitarow.

Could you please ask KFCMiner[sic] to provide their modifications to the GPL3 code that is cgminer? Thanks.

Very nice pics!!!!!!!!!  Wink  Thank you !!!!!!!!!!  Cool

Only some snap together stuff popped off in shipping Huh Not bad, could be alot worse, look at some of the Avalon stories  Roll Eyes

Decent looking rig,I may look into one if the price drops by at least 25%  Wink  The "next gen" 28nm stuff will use alot less power.

Congrats & happy mining !!!!!!!!!!!!!  Wink
