After watching the Rise And Rise Of Bitcoin and seeing mike's cas laboratory for myself. It really puts into perspective how insanely early we are.

bitcoin is still very fringe, although it is gaining more acceptance.

Thought I should give this a bump for any new coin makers out there or current ones that might find this useful on placing a hologram with precision. Wink

The Stone the masons rejected was the cornerstone.
Ok...as promised I have come up with an even more precise way on applying holograms..especially for those with shaky hands!

I introduce the Krogoth Holomatic... Wink

You can watch the video of it in action!>>>>  https://www.dropbox.com/s/gusn55d3s65zkfp/20201201_205433.mp4?dl=0

I have labeled each component, where you can buy and explained as follows...

 A) Toggle Clamp 90 Degree

 B) Hose Clamp

 C) YaeTek Lab Stands Support and Lab Clamp Flask Clamp Condenser Clamp Stands 60CM

 D) Pneumatic Air line 1/4" Od

 E) Copper Brake Line Hose Tubing Kit 1/4"

 F) Blackhead Remover Pore Vacuum

 G) 1" suction cup

 H) Permatex 84109 PermaPoxy 4 Minute Multi-Metal Epoxy, 0.84 oz.

If the vacuum is too great for your hologram, you can always install a small1/4" Hose Barb 3-Way Valve in the airline and bleed some air IN to regulate the amount of suction.

You do not have to buy from the sites I have shown you, as I have not. These are given as reference in case you need more information.

Not to derail the thread, but I am interested in a similar topic that I was hoping people can elaborate on a bit.

For those that would like to share, what are some companies that make these holograms? I’ve read there are people who make and sell them on Alibaba, but what are some other alternatives? Not sure if people regard this type of info as “proprietary” or not but am interested in these topics and the “behind the scene” type stuff that rarely get talked about such as what Krog brought up.

You are not derailing anything my friend....please feel free to post as I am sure other will learn from it too.

   So no offense taken!  Wink

What is stopping someone from copying a hologram that your make in order to sell fakes? or better yet, someone at the hologram printing company, printing extra holograms for themselves, then buying your coin, then peeling it and replacing with a fresh hologram that they made without permission?

  Yes great question indeed!

Lets say you use the same company that made the hologram...and they refuse as they don't want to duplicate any past orders...I am sure there are other companies that will not have any issues in doing so.

If you are worried about you hologram company copying your design or keeping some then you should be doing more research in finding a reputable hologram company.    Good work ain't cheap,  cheap work ain't good.

You get what you pay for..     do you want security or a pretty sticker....

I'm not so worried about a company printing the holograms for someone else, although how would you know if they did or not?  I'd be more concerned about a rogue employee simply making extra sheets or something along those lines.

Good point...it can happen to any solid safe company.

Don't rely on holograms only... for security....

If you are making a coin that uses a hologram sticker, what other forms of security would you recommend using?

Laser etched holograms ....  I think have been used..   laser etching changes things......it can be done inhouse

So holograms done In-house, laser etched, and all coin mintage/address info as mj stated above.  Anything else?

It seems nothing is 100% fool proof, except bitcoin itself. Best it seems we can do is minimize as many counter-parties involved with making of coins.

Aye ...nothing is 100% fool proof, except bitcoin itself.  Couldnt agree more mate...God Bless Bitcoin!

I went down a pretty big rabbit hole researching holograms ..  the only sure way to maintain security is print/make  inhouse..

It is the reason PaperSafe uses a very generic hologram ... its the overprint that really is the security..
  and I did it In-house...
