@Yamane_Keto: From my perspective creating such a service dedicated/related with bitcointalk would result (probably) in the same services being recommended thus creating a duplication of the kycnot.me website in some way. I think that a better course of action will be the one recommended by pluja - contribute by either working with him in the code, discussing the services or perhaps even being able to help him tackle the pending list of services.

I agree. My main idea was to fork kycnot.me because I thought the developer would be busy updating that site, but now I will try to help him to make the site better.

Thank you for offering, I will try to be around, but sometimes I get busy and tend to forget about social media, so it would be great if someone could contact me on important matters if you see I've not been around for a while Smiley
No problem.

Thank you for the suggestions, I just opened a new topic there: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/ann-kycnotme-open-source-list-of-non-kyc-services-5463031
Since we have a separate topic, I will lock this.
Thanks all.

Hi pluja, I'm glad to see you here, since you're here, create an ANN topic here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=84.0

Off topic: Great job on the update @pluja! I would seriously consider follow Yamane_Keto recommendation[1] and open up a thread in the service announcements section of the forum. That way we could discuss anything related with your website. Regarding the website design the only aspect that I have some doubts about is the grading color scheme underneath of each service - I understand that it helps translating what kind of aspects aren't achievable by the service (Being open source, No JS, etc) but the user always has to end up clicking on the service in order to see what is missing. I don't have an alternative solution for this however.

The only small bug I've found is that if I try to visit the Audits page I get the error "Could not get audit logs, please try again later". I assume this is simply because there have been no updates yet since the new site launched?
Thank you for your kind words and the heads-up on the bug! I just pushed a fix, it was an issue with some database changes I made that were not reflected on the audits page.

If you only or mostly include trusted & verified services and make sure that listed information is always updated, then no one will be able to clone you and become more popular. Back then when I used your website, I was looking for SMS service, googled all of them and only one or two was trustworthy, the rest of the listed websites were scam.

That's what I try. Every service that's been tested personally by me has a double blue check mark, indicating that I have verified that it works manually: https://kycnot.me/about#verification

But that's not a forever-verification. Services can change, so I try to regularly check services, but that's a very time-consuming task, and also I have to put my money in risk every time I test them out. For this, it would be great if any  user that encounters some valuable information about a service (like you did with some SMS services) sends that information to me, by an issue, or commenting the service's issue: https://gitlab.com/kycnot/services/-/issues. This way, I will be aware of that and able to update the information or delist. It's impossible for me to be aware of all changes, and all user opinions about the services that are listed at all times...

By the way, it will be better if you return the old way of filtration. At the moment there are only | All | Exchanges | Services |. Please don't unite everything under the name of services because it's getting hard to find the list of companies that offer particular service.

You can use the search bar for that. If you want SMS services, just search for "SMS" and you'll be shown any service that offers SMS service. Same for VPN, hosting, domains, mixers... I may add sections in the "services" list, but the search bar is now more powerful than any filter there was before.

Hello everyone, I'm pluja, the user behind kycnot.me, and I happened to come across this post.

Just a couple of days ago, I launched a major update of the site. This involved refreshing a lot of information and removing exchanges that are no longer active. Each service has its own discussion thread at https://gitlab.com/kycnot/services/-/issues. Feel free to leave comments if you notice any inaccuracies or outdated information, and I'll make the necessary updates as quickly as possible.

I understand the appeal of creating a clone of the site, but I've always believed that kycnot.me would benefit greatly from more contributors. As it stands, I'm the only maintainer testing and verifying information for a multitude of projects, which is a time-consuming task. For all this, it is, inevitable, some things might slip through the cracks. Fortunately, I receive many emails alerting me about significant changes, so most times I can respond very fast to important issues. My point is, I believe it would be more beneficial for the community as a whole if we pooled our efforts, rather than creating separate clones and dividing our resources. I always read all the issues and emails, and I always respond, even while I was working on the rewrite.

In addition to updating existing information, I've added a number of new services and I work hard to keep everything up-to-date. The updated site now includes a 'pending' page at https://kycnot.me/pending, where you can see which services are awaiting review and testing before being accepted.

I welcome any suggestions or improvements you might have. Since the code is open source, you're more than welcome to contribute, open issues, or whatever else you feel would be helpful. I'll make an effort to be more active here as well Smiley

Hello everyone, I'm pluja, the user behind kycnot.me, and I happened to come across this post.
First of all - thank you! I've lost track of how many times I've recommended your site to other users looking to reclaim their privacy and avoid the huge security risk of centralized exchanges.

Secondly, I love the redesign. The only small bug I've found is that if I try to visit the Audits page I get the error "Could not get audit logs, please try again later". I assume this is simply because there have been no updates yet since the new site launched?

Keep up the great work. Your site is a real asset for the community.

Hi pluja, I'm glad to see you here, since you're here, create an ANN topic here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=84.0

You can see some how to make ANN topic by clicking on the topics in that board, but it is simply a topic in which it explains https://kycnot.me and how to add or delete exchanges, and I am ready to follow the replies and make sure that topic is updated if you do not have time or are not interested in the forum (I will contact you via github)

I see that some members recommend https://kycnot.me/ for those who want to search for a non KYC exchange lists, after visiting that site, I found that it is not Up to Date, as some exchanges either no longer work or their privacy policy has changed.
Last update on kycnot.me website was few days ago on July 6th, so you can't say it's not up to date.
Maybe some exchanges should be removed from the list (localCryptos for example), but I think you can propose changes on their contact page or on codeberg (github alternative).
There is even forked old version of kyc.net website that is still working but I am not sure if they are updating it:
https://patchysicp.xyz/~wheezy/kycnotme/

I was thinking of creating a similar site, but it is updated by the forum. Are there any updated alternatives to https://kycnot.me, or is there someone in the forum working on this idea, or in other words, is it worth my time or is it a useless idea?
Doing something like this in forum is not a bad idea, but be careful with this, because I saw many similar attempts that could not keep up with all the updates and they usually quit after few months.

I'm sure you dig deep on this and you just want validation that you are right in setting up a site like kycnot.me,  as a webmaster myself I encourage you to proceed, we have a big community and they can take platforms that can help them on their options.

If the idea succeeds and finds interest, it may be a more general idea and will buying this domain BTTLISTS.org or bitcointalklists.io

The domain name and domain description are what will give you an edge, those names are good but if there are available domains that fully describe your content the better, the webmaster of kycnot.me knows search engine optimation so he picks the right name, so how about a nokycexchange. something, .org is good but it is related to organization .io and .net is preferable but if there's a .exchange extension the better.

I will try to contact the developer and see what can happen, I was thinking of creating a light version, without javascript, updated, with the ability to vote and do quick reviews.
Honestly, I liked the idea of https://wallets.thebitcoinhole.com and plan to create something similar.
37 Hardware Wallets, compared feature by feature

The forum has a lot of data, but unfortunately, most of these lists are either lost among the thousands of new topics, or they are not updated. You can at least sticky a reference thread with links to all the lists, but creating a separate site will be more dynamic.

I am open to more ideas.

Ratimov had a similar idea up for discussion, thou his focus is more NO-KYC Centralized Exchanges. Kycnot.me is a mixture of DEX and CEX. He is planning on setting up a database of NO KYC Centralized exchanges and is not planning to create a website for the project, but he is open for collaboration if you get in touch with him.

In order to make a website, you need to have special skills or hire specially trained people. I do not want to do this, and I have no knowledge of writing a site. If someone wants to create a web version based on my data, I will be ready to discuss it, but I will definitely not deal with the site myself.

First of all, I wasn't familiar with Kycnot website until I saw your topic. What I can - it looks good. Making alternative for it? As you said, making website is easiest part, but maintaining ot and making updates is more difficult. Probably it would be nice to have such kind of website runed by community. By saying runed by community I mean that it would be managed by few people from Bitcointalk. It's ok when people notify you about changes, but you still will have to make updates on site alone. And when you work alone, eventually you may get tired and bored to maintain it.

I have some time and creating such sites is easy, the problem is keeping it updated which is not difficult if the community here will participate in that.

Go for it if you think you can maintain it and you can always update it, users will have many options to choose and they can even compare, the niche I believe is still new and there's less competition in this area, just don't copy the platform and use a different script just make sure that the interface is user friendly.

And by the way, you miss visiting this page https://kycnot.me/changelog the admin of the platform just recently updated the list.

OP, that has to be your decision alone. Think about whether you will always have time to update, of course, support on the forum will probably not be missing, but you will have the most obligations during maintenance.
I saw a lot of ideas, which might have been useful, but the initiators at some point did not have enough motivation to work on updates and improvements. Also, don't limit the idea only to bitcointalk users, surely there are interested people outside this forum.

Since kycnot does not have an alternative yet you can build the same site so that users have the option to find other non-kyc exchange that is not listed on kycnot.me.
And I suggest add a page where we can send a request to list or delist an exchange(should be way easier than kycnot).

If you find something that needs updated, want to suggest a new listing or delisting, etc., then instructions on how to do so are here: https://codeberg.org/pluja/kycnot.me

The link for generating a JSON code for listing does not work the same as the "services" link.
Their new links that work is already on their about page which is these "Exchange form" and "Services form generator"
The generated form should be sent to [email protected]

I'm not convinced that putting a foot in that degree of responsibility (advising people of safe places to deposit money for crypto exchanges) is relevant if you want to associate it with the forum. I'm not convinced that it would serve the forum's own interests.
I'm not against your idea of creating a kycnot.me clone, but I think that associating it with the forum could indirectly cause problems for the forum and its community.

What's more, kycnot.me is extremely efficient, and as for the current (but minor) updating problems, o_e_l_e_o's reply has already provided all the necessary explanations.
I also think you'll have a hard time turning kycnot.me users away from this site, since they've already been established for a long time, people trust them, and they're a reference in the field.

I personally think it would be better to support this team already in place, either by simply using their services, or by making a donation. I think this would be more in favor of the general interest than creating a new website providing the same service.

I found that it is not Up to Date, as some exchanges either no longer work or their privacy policy has changed.
It is still very much maintained. The developer explains the more recent lack of updates here:

I'm currently rewriting the app for a better user experience. During this time, only necessary maintenance work will be performed. All requests will be processed once the new version is launched. Thank you for your patience!

If you find something that needs updated, want to suggest a new listing or delisting, etc., then instructions on how to do so are here: https://codeberg.org/pluja/kycnot.me

This topic is to formulate initial ideas about the most useful way in which we can create such lists, and if I find interest, I will lock it and start implementing.
