I think everything happens for a reason, and this is a good start for Girona. Being a club that joined the La Liga Championship in 2017, to have risen to the third position currently held by them, is a great height achieved so far. If the club can continue like this, they are probably going to come in at second above Barcelona, which will be another great accomplishment for the team.
Regardless, if they don't go to the second position and continue to maintain the position they currently hold, due to the very few matches that are left, then Girona would have already qualified to the Champions League, which also means that they are ready to join the champions this season. Amazing. An encouraging step taken by such a growing club within a short time.
That's not necessarily the case, if Girona slips in their 3 or 4 matches in the remaining La Liga competition. that means, they will experience a decrease in ranking. in the 31st week, Girona will visit Atletico Madrid's home ground, Girona also still has a match against Barcelona. Apart from that, they have to face several other mediocre teams until this season ends. which means, in the last 8 matches anything could happen, including Girona's ranking being overtaken by Atletico Madrid.
So, so that this doesn't happen, Michel has quite a tough task at the end of this competition to ensure his team continues to finish in the top four of La Liga. However, if Girona experiences a decline in performance, let alone losing half of the remaining matches. So it's not just Atltico Madrid that has overtaken Girona's ranking, but Bilbao also has the potential to do the same. at this point, as I said that Michel as Girona coach must get his squad back on the right track. At least, Girona won't lose when they visit the Metropolitano, ATM's headquarters and host Barcelona. That way, Michel's team is entitled to a ticket to the Champions League competition. but when it comes to achievements, Girona has done it. At least, this season Girona is one of the different teams.
