Some time ago there were rumors that Xavi would not leave Barcelona, but it seems his decision remains firm to leave Barcelona and through Fabrizio Romano's upload we know this is valid news that cannot be doubted. Some time ago there was news that Joan Laporta would try his best to keep Xavi and some of us definitely believe that considering that Barcelona can only rely on Xavi with its current finances.
But from Xavi's side, it seems like he doesn't want to get into any more trouble and with such a huge burden of responsibility he certainly feels he is no longer able to handle this team. Barcelona's expectations were too high but they couldn't keep up with the hunt for good players in the transfer window and of course Xavi's request to bring in the players he wanted couldn't be fulfilled while coaching Barcelona.
However, on the other hand, Barcelona has players from the academy who are quite reliable, such as Lamine Yamal, Fermin Lopez or their new talented young defender, Pau Cubarsi. However, if Barcelona wants to compete next season, they have to buy above average players to complement the deficiencies in depth.
I like Yamal and Lopez - great potential. However, academy players alone cannot win a title. You need battle-tested leaders. Barca must solve the money problem or adapt their play. The leader requires a smart plan, a deal-making mind, and the ability to work with what they have. Xavi and others are under pressure in this difficult circumstance.
