I think Atletico Madrid kept being under pressure. After failing to fight for title race, they now have to fight for the Champions League spot with being chased by Bilbao and Sociedad. This constant pressure put them having no time to take a breath. in this situation, any loss would out more pressure on them with no time to relax while still having to compete in Champions League.

Simeone has to find a solution for this situation. They will not able to afford another loss, because their chance to finish fourth on the standings could be slimmer and slimmer while they have to compete with two clubs, Bilbao and Sociedad. While the chance to finish fourth position is still on their hand, they have to capitalize maximum points in every remaining games. Real Madrid is leading by a huge distance and the other teams have no chance to get closer to them as Real Madrid's consistency is impressive and they won't play any worse than they are doing. Now where do you see the buzz here? I can't see it. We can talk about Barcelona and whether they or Girona will go for 2nd place in La Liga, but the title is essentially won by Real Madrid already.

Barcelona's defense is way too bad and Atletico Madrid isn't even close to any of the teams. How can Atletico Madrid catch up with Real Madrid when they are 20 points behind and 8 games to go? Are you looking at the wrong season? Better check season 2023/24.

This year, as in the past, competition in La Laga is again at an all-time high. In fact 3 teams Girona, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid can still theoretically catch up with Real and become La Liga champions and if Real didn't have such a fantastic season, the competition would be even higher.

It's definitely a good situation towards the end of the season although the trophy race isn't as exciting but the top scorer race is still a hot one.

I don't know if this was just a coincidence or he just had more chances to do it, but indeed, this time, he did it quite differently, we could say, he shined up more this time. In my own opinion, I think it'll be a difficult game because while Atletico Madrid will be fighting for a win that'll see them overtake Athletic Bilbao who lost yesterday at Real Madrid, Villarreal will be playing to avoid a home defeat to Diego Simeone's men. If I'm to stake on that game, I'll simply go for the option of "both teams to score" because I think the two teams are definitely going to find the back of the net in that game

Well it will be difficult for Atletico Madrid to get a win out of this game as they are playing away from home and in a difficult stadium against Villareal where their strongest hub is when they play at home.Atletico Madrid needs desperately to win against whoever opponent and they will go all in during tonight match as their only option to have a chance to be in control of being in that 4th place.If they lose again tonight then most likely they need to say good bye to playing in the Champions League as Athletic Bilbao is in a perfect form so far and I think they can keep up with good results to be playing again in Champions League after so long.

Well at least it was enough for an introduction when he came on in the last 2 minutes before the game was over and it would have been great to see Madrid's appreciation for Militao who hasn't gotten much attention this season due to a long injury layoff so it was a good debut I guess.

As for the match, it lived up to expectations because in the end Madrid are still too strong for La Liga clubs even for dark horses like Bilbao.
Without Vini in the squad it didn't seem to be a limitation for Madrid as their dominance was very good with a fairly unique formation of 4-2-2-2 being used by Madrid in this match.

Rodrygo can always be the answer when there is no Vini because in this match especially with the brace he did of course it was very good for Rodrygo.

Atletico Madrid just had a 0-3 loss against Barcelona right at home, and with the above result, Atletico Madrid is paying the price for its bad performance, which is being knocked out of the top 4 of La Liga. Of course, the race is still under control when Atletico Madrid is only 1 point behind Bilbao. Since the 2012/13 season until now, Atletico has never been outside the final Top 3 in the national championship. But this season, it is unknown whether there will be a surprising result. As for Villarreal, coach Marcelino Toral helped Villarreal's revival. Villarreal has improved significantly compared to the beginning of the tournament.
It is the contrasting performance of both that makes Atletico much underestimated. With home field advantage, I think it's likely that Villarreal will go from a draw to a win.

I have kept looking forward to a day Barcelona would come up with the fact that their financial crisis is over and they are now stable enough to run the team and go ahead to acquire players as much as they can and even getting a top coach or been able to maintain that which they have already while providing him with all he will be needing to be able to run the team well and produce results for the team.

I checked the richest team rankings few weeks back and I found out that Barcelona isn't even that broke so I wonder what exactly has been the reason for all the talks of them going through several financial crisis and all that on the media, I had taught they would be able to utilize that which they have even if they so claim the financial crisis don't they hope to get out of it some day by putting in the necessary effort needed to helping them get pass this stage so they can go ahead to signing new players and aswell get to give the team a New and better form that will help them win trophies and come back to glory days again.

Barcelona actually isn't in a very bad shape when you take out some time to examine their dept currently, they have got a form that I think is very nice and their depth aswell is such that they can be able to dominate the la Liga if headed by a good coach who's provided with all that he's wanted to be able to carry out his duties well and deliver the team but then they keep capitalizing on the financial strength of the team to limit the teams ability.

I have also watched Rodrygo's goals and both of them were really great. Especially the first one is like a classic Rodrygo goal. He is really good at this kind of finesse shots.  

There is a chance for Rodrygo to receive an offer by Manchester City this summer according to rumours. I don't feel like Ancelotti would like to see him leaving. He must have really good plans for him in his time period with Real Madrid. The offer would surely be huge but Rodrygo has already started to be an important player for the team.


Finally Militao is back! This is great news for Real Madrid while they have a matchup against Manchester City in the Champions League. They really need their defense to be as strong as possible before facing them. I don't know whether we would see him in the starting lineup in the first leg though but I would like to see him reaching full match fitness until then.

Well Barcelona have now used this win to give a statement on their readiness for the UCL match against PSG and yes this match was a big boost for them befriend the match and as such, you can begin to have some sort of confidence in them being able to get something off PSG. Barcelona victory now puts them 2nd on the log though they won’t be able to compete with Real Madrid for the league because Real are a very better team than Barcelona.

 ⁠Though the win was just a lone goal from Ralphina, you can tell how much of opportunities they missed in that match but still you can’t just write them off for the match with PSG. I feel they’ll be able to give PSG some worries to an extent and this match will be one match to be on the lookout for this week.

 Yes the PSG squad is quite a force especially with the presence of Kylian but that alone can’t make you write off this Barca team as they have really shown great signs of improvement under Xavi though their financial constraints is a big issue to them. Psg and Barca are kind of balanced with psg main advantage being on Kylian’s pace with the ball.

 ⁠The match will not be a borough one though but I think the team who gives his all will win  as that’s the criteria and I’m glad both teams have the experience to win. Though I don’t think any is yet a contender for the title.

Girona again showed signs of revival to return to consistency in the remaining matches this season, the victory over Real Betis confirmed their position in the top four of the standings, although the additional 3 points could not help them overtake Barcelona position in second place. This victory really helped the confidence of the players and everyone involved in the club, because Girona had run out of steam and had difficulty winning in the last few matches. If Girona finished in 3rd place in the standings, in my opinion that would also be worthy of appreciation, because they were able to appear impressive this season.

Meanwhile, regarding the opportunity for Atletico Madrid to return to the top four, this opportunity is now very open thanks to Real Madrid beating Atletic Bilbao yesterday. In my opinion, Diego Simeone squad will be able to secure full points when they visit Villarreal headquarters, because on paper Atletico Madrid has better squad depth. Diego Simeone will try to break the bad trend of his team because in the last two matches Atletico Madrid lost, this is the right momentum to create a positive trend again. It is clear that Atletico Madrid will have a little difficulty beating Villarreal, because their opponents have been performing well recently.
