We expected Madrid to dominate this match, and that's what we saw. Mallorca's players could not put up any resistance against Real Madrid's players. From the start of the match, Madrid's players maintained their dominance. Real Madrid probably won't win by more goals though. However, Madrid will get 3 points from this match either way.

However, the performance of Madrid's two attacking players, Vini and Rodrygo, was as usual quite poor today. Antonio Rudiger's goal in the 78th minute gave Real Madrid the lead. IMO, firstly, what makes Girona able to perform so far is because they don't have a busy match schedule.  Thus, Michel only focuses his squad on La Liga. as for the Copa de Rey, this match does not really drain the energy of the team and coach. plus, the newcomers that Girona brought in were able to maximize their potential when playing their matches in La Liga. apart from that, the system implemented by the Girona coach does not only focus on their pure stirker. which means, every player is allowed to score a goal if they have the opportunity. it has been proven that in 18 matches Girona has been more productive in terms of scoring goals than the other teams competing in this league. Girona is currently ranked 2nd in the standings below Madrid, while Madrid is currently playing its match against Mallorca. whatever the result, between the Madrid vs Mallorca match. Girona still has to get full points when they host Atletico Madrid, in order to maintain their position or shift Madrid's ranking.

Girona and Atletico Madrid will be an interesting match to watch, Girona will want to beat Atletico Madrid to keep the pressure on Real Madrid at the top of the La Liga table, while Atletico Madrid will want to beat Girona to prove they are capable of beating Girona, and also reduce the point between them and Girona. I bet in favor of Girona to beat Atletico Madrid because Girona has been unbeaten in their last 10 La Liga matches.

Tonight is the real test of Girona as they are playing a Atletico, a team with experienced players that are in their best forms even though they have not been doing well at away. Atletico Madrid lost three of their away matches and if Girona, who have maintained a very wonderful home record this season, can draw their motivation from that, then they might stand a chance.

With a goalless first half between Real Madrid and Real Mallorca, Girona have a chance of sitting at the top of the league with 2 points gap if they win their match tonight and Madrid Match ends as it is now. 

Given that both clubs are doing well, the game will be very entertaining. Though I anticipate a very difficult game, bu I thave big hopes for Girona because their performance is completely different far from Athletico Madrid's, Girona works hard to preserve their consistency since they don't want to repeat what they did earlier in the season. It is their goal to perform better. Girona is simply competing for first place in the standings, which they will undoubtedly obtain. However, since many thoughts that both clubs are powerful, let's see what will happens tonight.

Girona has a good form that can't be underestimated, they actually did looked like they took everyone unaware as almost nobody expected such form from them this season and how they gradually got the top of the table and literally solidified their position there is really interesting and somehow surprising as they weren't given much attention till they got to the top.

Atletico isn't a weak team either and I don't expect an easy game between these two, I'm very certain it's going to be an interesting and entertaining game and I personally don't have a favorite for this game because I consider both team equally strong and a little above average so I would just expect the best team wins but Girona have got the home advantage and that for me it's an edge upon which they can capitalize to further climb to the top of the table but then I still believe strongly Real Madrid is most likely to win the trophy by the end of the season than girona does.

I think Real Madrid will hold their lead until the end of the season to win the league. They are the team with the full moral strength and they can fight for longer and they don't lack motivation. On the other hand, Girona is a relatively smaller team than Real Madrid. What they have done is very amazing this season. If they had not been fighting like this many people would have said Real Madrid has won the league. Girona has a match today against Atletico Madrid and I think that match will say a lot about Girona. Will they fight back or will they give up?

Real Madrid has a tough schedule coming up in February. They have their match against Girona and the Uefa Champions League matches. The injury list is quite bad as well. But Real Madrid won’t be signing any new players as far as I have heard. That might backfire. But Real Madrid has put faith in Ancelotti to push them through it and I believe if any accident does not happen, they will win both UCL and La Liga.

Agree with swogerino, this is another real test for Girona, they had surpased one very important against Barcelona not so much time ago, but now they face a more rought team like this Atletico Madrid of Diego Simeone, and we know Atletico is playing his last cards in the race to catch the top position.

Girona definitely looks like the "favourites" and that is a weird feeling for sure. I mean to say that Girona is the favourites against Athletico Madrid is not something that I would guess I would ever say, in the past 40 years of me watching football, I have never seen them be better even once, and for the time being they are clearly the better team.

I can see ATM winning anyway, it is not like it would be impossible and they could definitely end up getting a win anyway, but that doesn't mean that it will happen, it just means that there is a possibility. They are still quite close to each other and we need to consider that as the most important part. I know that people could be a bit farther away from betting, because it is way too close to call.

I don't think this match will be boring, on the contrary, this match will be exciting. Because both teams are both in their best performance, currently Girona is competing closely with Real Madrid and Atl Madrid in third place with a difference of seven points, of course Atletico Madrid will take advantage of the opportunity in this match to reduce their gap with Real Madrid.

Even though this match was played at Girona's home ground, make no mistake Atletico Madrid is not an easy opponent to face. because they have a strong and sturdy defense. Now it is the real test for Girona.They are playing at home against Atletico Madrid and they need to win at all cost this game if they want to continue to fight for the title against Real Madrid this year.If they don't win tonight then things will be complicated as they can't repeat the success they had against Real Madrid in the second part of the La Liga season.I personally have bet on goals for this game as for me any result it can happen,Atletico Madrid is on a great run but so is Girona if we remove the last game where they drew and did not win.Girona has won so many games in the last minutes so that is a strong point for them,they can keep the draw and make Atletico nervous before attacking in the final stages.

I will be very interested to see how Girona will react after their First place was snatched away by Real Madrid. And this will be more interesting as the match will be against one of the best teams in La Liga. Atletico Madrid did not have the form as Girona recently. They drew against Getafe 3-3 and against Sevilla, they barely won the game 1-0. You know Sevilla has been a very weak and nonperforming team recently. They should have been more dominant than Sevilla.

To be honest I don't know how Girona will perform today. Their Morale will be down as usual, and I wonder if they have the motivation to win the game. It should be a very interesting game as it would have a lot of impact on the top 4 teams even on those who are not playing it.

This match will certainly be an interesting match because yes, at least the home team and also the away team in the match have an equally good chance of being able to get full points . But to be honest, I personally cannot choose or determine which team will win in this match, because I think the match will run tight which will certainly be difficult for them to accept defeat.

Therefore, I only bet with the over goals option or maybe both teams to score . Although, this option I think might not happen because yes, at least they can also play with low goals. But for some reason, I'm just going to hope it's an exciting match with lots of goals that might happen in this match.

Real Madrid has a very good chance of winning tonight since the opponent I much more demotivated than them and according to statistics,  Real Madrid is winning and I will give them my sure winning in the game,  and also topping the la Liga in this season,  the only clubs that could pause a threat to Real Madrid in this season is Barcelona and Atletico Madrid since both clubs are also eyeing the top position and both clubs doing so well in their various games during this season.

But for sure Asernal is far from the top in the table this season as we are seeing much weak performance that could help the club to recover to the best position like others who were previously prevailing position in the last season and where the club is expected to be by the fans and management.

This is really going to be an intense match to watch because the Girona of now is no longer that of the one we knew years ago,what they are capable of doing now,not most teams in the Lalliga can do,and with what they've done this season,it is quite obvious that they are up for something,and if I am to give a prediction on this Girona vs Athletico game,I will definitely give the win to Girona because of their form this season.It is true that Athletico have more wins than Girona in their head to head fixtures,but that wont matter in this match,infact Girona will because of that,fight very hard to win Athletico by all means,and I'm optimistic a win for them is possible here.

I'm very curious and looking forward to this match, yes that's because I saw Girona who managed to come second in the first half of the season. If they can win this match, then they will grow their confidence and mentality for the second round.
Both have a chance of winning, statistically this season, Girona are better than Atletico Madrid. But with Atletico Madrid also a big club that is always in the top 4 of the standings, they will not be easy to beat. Atletico Madrid itself will definitely want to tackle the positive results that Girona always achieves because it will also make them closer to Girona. 7 points is the distance they have at the moment, if they can win then they will cut the distance to 4 points.
