Assuming there is a financial transaction involving a million euros and then the involved parties claim that this was for some other cause like consulting or whatever they said so far, wouldn't the prosecutors have to prove some intentionally wrong refereeing to wrap this up as official bribery? What if they can't find a scene that shows a decision made by the referee that was obviously wrong? Could they still impose a penalty on Barcelona or would this end with giving Barcelona the benefit of the doubt because they have no choice but to accept they have no hard evidence?

Xavi was lucky to win La Liga (due to the crisis in Real Madrid) but, for example, Barcelona have terrible results in European cups. If we were not talking about a top club with big ambitions, then average results would be acceptable, but Barcelona, despite the financial crisis and the scandal with bribery of referees that continues to develop, still considers itself a top club, so they need better results. At some point, Xavi may be fired due to results or simply because Xavi still hasn't proven that he has a high level of competence.
