Karim Benzema was an outright striker through out his stay at Real Madrid and despite the current quality in the attacking line of the club they'll definitely feel the departure of Benzema if the club doesn't find a good replacement for him.
Vinicius Jnr and Rodrygo are two good forward players but none of them can play in the striking role like Benzema was playing for Real Madrid. I know that the Real Madrid coach can be using a formation that'll allow a false 9 usage but that doesn't solve the problem of finding his replacement I think
Madrid's main weakness has been their over-reliance on Benzema over the last few seasons. And while Benzema is in the squad they should have found a suitable replacement for Benzema. They didn't do it. And now, if Madrid does not get a suitable replacement for Benzema, the team will not be able to win the title next season. Joselu is quite a good striker. But he is not as experienced as Benzema.
Vini and Rodrygo are excellent players no doubt. But they miss a lot of easy opportunities. But Vini is slowly gaining experience. Day by day his performance is getting sharper. I hope we see better performances from Vini next season. At the same time, if Joselu and Rodrygo play well, maybe Real Madrid's performance will stabilize.
This is interesting, because the question is why Madrid did not look for a more ideal successor to replace Benzema. then, is Don Carlo too confident with the current squad only to bring in Joselu as a replacement for Benzema. or, that Madrid will actually get Mbappe next season for free. that's why, they don't want to bring in players like Kane, Osimhen, or others if they can get Mbappe for free in June 2024. or, is this scenario what the club and Perez want. for sure, we do not know what they are planning.
To be honest, I don't want to rush to judge how Madrid are doing these pre-season games. because, what they show later may be different. but we agree on one thing, if Madrid is too dependent on Benzema. so when the star chose to leave, Vini jr, Rodrygo, seemed to have lost a mentor who was very suitable for Madrid's front lines.
Vini, Benzema, Rodrygo, are the three Madrid forwards who are very, very deadly when they are in the opposing team's defensive area. now, they have to adapt to some of the newcomers. well, the era of veteran Madrid players is coming to an end and young players will soon replace them.
Modric, Kroos, it seems that they will leave next season. if in the end these young players don't show a brilliant performance, then Madrid must bring in players who are more established and experienced. but before heading there, let's just see every development. after all, the transfer market still has a lag time. it could too, if Don Carlo had something planned for his squad. we'll see, yet the La Liga competition has not started.
