For the skills or quality, they are surely not too old. Age doesn't give a significant impact on their skills/quality. I agree that Benzema and Modric still can play effectively, even if it is in the current El Classico. But age must affect the fitness or endurance of the players. We all know that Benzema often got an injured problem, while Modric can't play full-time as previously. For the whole season, Real Madrid can't rely on these players anymore since Real Madrid plays in some big competitions that possibly make the old players feel tired or get injured. So, I really support the idea that the old players in Real Madrid need proper successors for the next season. For the midfield line, there are already many young players. But for the attacking line, there is still no option for Benzema's successor (pure CF position).

As people have started to talk about the possibility that Benzema can leave Real Madrid this summer, I wonder what Real Madrid are planning to do. If he really decides to leave then I think we can see Real Madrid going for a top striker transfer this summer. In this case some alternatives are already coming to my mind. These players might be Osimhen and Kane.

Both of these strikers are going to be on the radar of some big teams in the summer for sure. Tottenham would be quite adamant about keeping Kane for one more season. But after having a season which is the copy of the previous ones I guess Kane would be willing to leave for a more successful team. Osimhen has had a great run with Napoli and it will be really difficult for Napoli to convince him to stay as well.

If we say that Real Madrid is a team that is not good this season, it is not quite right. LaLiga is not a benchmark that a team is good or not in a season. Real Madrid are in second place in the LaLiga standings. Good not in the sense of having to be at the top of the standings. We also have to look at Real Madrid's focus this season. At the start of the season they said that they had not lifted the Copa del Rey trophy for a long time, and they would focus on this season. Real Madrid last lifted the Copa del Real trophy in 2014. We can see this when Carlo fielded players in every game. He will do a different rotation between LaLiga, the Copa del Rey and the UCL. Benzema scored a hat trick in two consecutive matches. He's the best player. It was different at the start of the season, his condition had not fully recovered from his injury.

Real Madrid over the years has shown that they're a club with strong winning mentality and on several occasions has they turned around matches that almost everyone thinks they've lost out and deliver incredible performances to end up as winners and such characteristics is very rare in modern day football.
Yesterday's match was different because they weren't trailing in the tie after winning the first leg by a goal to nil but because they were beaten in the league by the same Barcelona they met played against yesterday, they wanted to make a big statement of how big of club they are and they did that in clinical fashion. Karim Benzema is still having who has scored 6 goals in his last two matches also needed to tell opposing defenders that's he's very much a deadly striker despite his age

True, because by qualifying Real Madrid to the Copa del Rey final, it is certain that Real Madrid this season will win the Copa del Rey title because Real Madrid will play against Osasuna in the Copa del Rey final. At least for now they can still get the Copa del Rey for the domestic league because in the final they will face Osasuna but for La Liga I agree with what you say, because they are forcing this it will be very difficult especially with the points in the gap with Barcelona which is too far so it is clear that this will probably be released.
The Copa del Rey can be their solace and of course the focus remains on the Champions League.

It looks like Villarreal are going to play one of their toughest matches in the season in two days. It is going to be against Real Madrid away.

Technically they defeated Real Madrid home once. In that match we watched a really systematic Villarreal and they didn't let Real Madrid play their own game much. This resulted in a victory for Villarreal by 2-1. However I don't think it will be the same again now. Yes maybe Real Madrid don't have any chance for the league title from a sensible point of view. However I don't see them not caring about the remaining matches. We have all seen how they destroyed Valladolid. Plus they destroyed Barcelona in the Copa del Rey also. I don't see a way out for Villarreal this time.

Barcelona didn't aware of what thing that has become its weakness. Barcelona was over confidence to defeat real madrid easily like in the previous match. That was why xavi didn't expect ancellotti will have used the same formation as barcelona. that proves that if the quality that owned by real madrid is still far better if either of clubs barcleona and real madrid used same formation. it's very hard to accept the result but that's the outcome from the match that happened yesterday. Im sure that if xavi can't sleep properly after the match against real madrid.

4-0 is a very embarrassing result for barcelona. There were some drama that happened during the match between vini and gavi. As a teenager and it's very easy to trigger gavi's emotions.

Real Madrid are a team that is very difficult to predict, they can turn out to be very strong when we don't realize it and Barcelona were so complacent with winning the first leg that they thought they would be able to do the same and Benzema taught Xavi a lot not to look at Real Madrid with one eye.
