The more interesting question is after that marvelous win yesterday whether Ancelotti can keep his job when he wins Copa del Rey and perhaps the Champions League. Or whether he would step back himself after another big success and say "that's it my friends". I could understand that move as he had an outstanding career already. He said that Real Madrid will be the last club for now. Maybe he wants to try again next season, He seems to be physically healthy and he is only 63. Some will say that is quite old, but he isn't the wild guy anyway and comes across as quite relaxed most of the time. He could definitely handle to be a coach for another few years.
The Real Madrid team can win the Champions and the Copa del Rey with this unbelievable performance against Barcelona. I don't think Chelsea has any chance of beating this great team. The team is a fine blend of the old, current, and future generations of the world's best players.
Seeing the evergreen Modric and Benzema connecting with Vini Jr is a wonderful sight to behold. If I were Carlo Ancelotti I will leave the team when the ovation is loudest. His innovation and creativity are outstanding, I was surprised to see Madrid becoming a counterattacking team. He will forever be remembered as one of the greatest coaches of Real Madrid. If he wins these two or any of the trophies, I think it will be a good time to leave Madrid. He is not getting any younger, maybe focusing on coaching a national team will be more convenient.
That was very well said I must say!
It is exactly what I think when I see them playing. Year after year you think that has to be it, Modric is too old, Benzema is too old, and then they perform like that. Vinicius Junior brings the spiciness into the game. Modric controls it and Benzema is a striker in its truest sense. I think Chelsea just isn't there yet, they haven't found and understood each other on the field.
Regarding Ancelotti, that is easier said than done!
You never know when you are at your peak. Zidane thought after his first Champions League title that he perhaps won't repeat it, and when he got the second he must have thought that a third can't be possible. Ancelotti sees his team showing these performances like against Liverpool and Barcelona, which coach in the world would say that's it, I have had enough?
