I am curious whether Sevilla will be the old Sevilla in the Europa League. Their performances in that competition were almost always excellent, but now they seem to be a bit out of shape. The game against Eindhoven won't be an easy one as Eindhoven is just getting back in shape. The strongest part in the squad used to be the defense for Sevilla. They are doing ok right now, but it's not as it used to be in the past. Who knows, maybe they'll just be on point for the Europa League.

Yes, it is a good match done by Sevilla. They seem improving their performance. Just look at the stats, they very dominated the match. Mallorca got no shot on target, which means Sevilla defenders perform perfectly today. They must maintain this performance, they have a chance to return to the top 10 if they can play consistently in the next matches.

I assume the win makes Sevilla players more motivated to play better. Now, they should have a minimum target to finish the season in the top 10 of La Liga standings. Really appreciate what Sevilla players did today!! Wink

It was a good win. Sacking Julen Lopetegui is a nice decision and it has brought development to the team. But I don't think he was the root cause of Sevilla's poor performance.
If you really check well there is nothing new in the squad ever since the Arrival of Jorge Sampaolli. I quest there was an internal difference cuz now , the same players that were giving poor results are playing so well.

It was the goal from Bryan Gill, who is on loan from Tottenham FC that sealed the victory for Sevilla today. Their performance has quite improved I must agree, but if they want to go up on the table, the new manager, Sampaolli would have to start making plans for new signings or on loan players with great potential to add power to the team.

It's so bad and unfortunate that Valencia failed to hold the Athletic club to a draw match after holding them in a 1:1 draw match in the first match. They could have stayed above the relegation zone with a point if they had drawn, which would have been considerably better for them (21points).

A few minutes to the end of the second half, Athletic is leading with 2 goals to 1 against Valencia.

Valencia is currently 18th in the LaLiga position with 20 points after losing to the Athletic club that is in 4th place

I am not saying that this is going to be something that will change the outcome of the next match for Real Madrid. But certainly, Real Madrid will have to keep in mind that they cannot underestimate their opponent. But I think this is going to be an easy three points for Real Madrid.

I feel every match presents an opportunity for the underdog to create catastrophe to the favored. Elche may be at the bottom of the table, but that doesn't mean they can't come out and prove everyone wrong. In contrast, Real Madrid cannot depend only on their league standing to win this match. I think they are getting their spirit back, they have really been poor recently, wining today game will make them have more confident, they really played well. I just hope they keep their form. They still have a long way to go, so if they can only continue like this, then I think they can be in the European League come next season. They really started the season very poor, if not they could have been in the top four in the Spanish LaLiga. I really like the spirit they are showing. But I just believe that they will continue like this for some couples of games.

Sevilla came out victorious in this match. Sevilla played well in this match, they were able to ignite the enthusiasm of the fans when Nesyri scored a goal in the 28th minute. This victory was also very important for Sevilla because they were able to rank 12th for the time being. I think Sevilla this season they are just struggling to get away from the relegation zone because since the start of the season they have been really difficult to win.
