Barcelona have a habit of relying too much on a particular player, just the way they were relying on Lionel Messi, same way they are now relying on Lewandowski to score goals and put the team in front in every game. Lewandowski's absence was felt in the game as Barcelona struggled to find the back of the net. Xavi needs to work on perfecting his attacking options to not rely on a single player.

You are correct about how strong the competition in La Liga is this season, only 17-18 matches have been played in La Liga this season, but we can already see that the challenge for the title may go on until the last match of the La Liga season, every point now is so important for the two teams challenging themselves for the title, and that's barcelona and real madrid, anyone of them that drops points leaves an opportunity for the other to add or cut the gap. Real Madrid haven't lost much of their potential of scoring goals. Thanks to having really good midfielders and attackers they don't have much problem on it. Benzema's return has made a quite positive impact on their performance in the attacking line as well. We have been seeing its reflection on their recent matches. For example Benzema's goal against Athletic Bilbao was a proof of being a very experienced striker at the same time. But I'm not going to say the same when it comes to their defending.

Real Madrid are conceding really simple goals these days. Maybe they resisted Athletic Bilbao well about it. But they were also almost scoring a goal if it wasn't disallowed by VAR. When it comes to the quality of Real Madrid's defenders I think they are very qualified. Maybe they need some improvement in defending strategies.

Barcelona have had an extremely good run, not losing 11 games and winning one of them ar against Real Madrid with 3:1. The next really tough game is on 16 February against Manchester United. As I already wrote, Barcelona has the best defence international, in 17 games they have only allowed 6 goals. The handicap betting odds should be very low by now. Lewandowski should still score 15 goals in the league this season, so far he hasn't scored a penalty.

1 goal may not make a big difference on Barcelona point on the leagues table bit at least it will make a record added to the score lines as
this may increase their total won games.

Your reasoning about Barcelona may be right, or on the contrary, it may be deeply erroneous. If we assume that Barcelona is in optimal shape, then a series of difficult victories is undoubtedly luck that will end sooner or later. Barcelona could have won easier indeed. But playing without Lewandowski limited their scoring abilities at some level. As Depay has also left the team Barcelona don't have a striker to be Lewandowski's backup.
