Elche were never going to win Athletico madrid in the Metropolitano stadium. Elche are 20th in La Liga, and they have not won a single game this season, their wait for a first victory continues, and surely they are going to be relegated. Despite Athletico madrid's victory i don't think they are back to their best, Elche isn't a strong opponent, i believe if Athletico madrid had faced a stronger opponent they may not have won. Athletico madrid would surely get 1 ticket for the champions league next season like you said, i feel no matter how bad they play, they will still be better than most teams and should finish either 3rd or 4th.

The third position is ideal for Atletico at the moment, the recent victory has given them the fighting spirit to win in their next game. Two wins in 5 matches is not a good achievement for a team like Atletico, at least this victory will make them more confident against Barcelona in Week 16 of La Liga.

I had expected an Atletico Madrid win, in fact I firmly believed João Félix would be a threat to Pablo Machín's team. Atletico Madrid dominated in attack and they also created a lot of chances although 5 of them found the target. Obviously this is a very important win following Real Betis and Athletic Bilbao's draws. But unfortunately Atletico Madrid had to lose one of its defenders due to accumulation of cards and was sent off after getting 2 yellow cards during the match.

Thanks to this victory, Atletico Madrid managed to improve their position in the standings where they have claimed 3rd place at the moment with 1 point difference above Real Sociedad who still have 1 match in hand. Of course, the match against Real Valladolid is a game that Real Madrid is likely to win very easily, but that doesn't mean they will easily surpass Barcelona in the standings. Glad to see atletico was getting full points but the red card that happened with hermoso is something that was unnecessary. I meant even if hermoso would not try to did a tackle and then there will be goal happeend. I think that hermoso was wasting his chance to play in the next games. Three points are very important for atletico madrid for now. It needs to climb even higher than before to reach the level of barcelona and real madrid. Atletico was making goals from griezman and felix.

Neymar case is not too weird. In some cases, players were substituted and a few minutes on field, they were sent out by a direct red card or by 2 yellow cards. Even they did not drop too much sweats before have to take a bath too early before their team-mates.
