Had Barcelona not been in group C, maybe the result would have been different, but unfortunately Barcelona had to quickly get a strong opponent in the group stage.

El Classico does not decide who is winner of La Liga but it is important. More important and would decide the title winner. I don't see how Barcelona will beat Real Madrid in this dual competition. Maybe we have to wait for a tighter dual race in the next season when Gavi, Pedri and Ansu Fati will be more matured and can contribute more for Barcelona.

To be honest yesterday I thought Villarreal could stand up to Barcelona, but I was wrong. They are really doing well as a team. I thought that after the tough games against Real Madrid and Inter Barcelona had no strength left, and that Villarreal could beat them, as it was in the previous away match. But Xavi was able to set up the game correctly and so far Barcelona have not lost motivation.

Barcelona reacted well to the Gran Derbi defeat against Real Madrid and yesterday they kicked off the game against Villareal with full commitment and focus. The guests managed to keep the draw for half an hour, but then Barcelona quickly scored 3 goals and basically the match was settled by half-time. Xavi praised De Jong's performance against Villareal, but it is clear that he has bias when choosing his squad. He solely supported Spanish players. A player like De Jong belongs in Barcelona's starting lineup. De Jong is an excellent player and a key member of the squad, but Xavi never allowed him the chance to demonstrate his talent and prowess. However, he will play more games going forward due to his 95% passing accuracy vs Villareal. Busquet has undoubtedly helped the team, but given his present fitness and form, Xavi has to rest him and start De Jong ahead of him.

Xavi had previously managed to lift and heal Barcelona when they were in a slump so there was no reason for barcelona to sack Xavi now, like you, I also think if Xavi actually has managed to build a good squad even though currently Barcelona is not as strong as it used to be but at least Barcelona performance is still better than the coaching period of Ronald Koeman, currently Xavi only needs the trust and time of the management and Barcelona fans to be able to build a better and stronger squad later.
