I'm not sure about your reasons for saying Benzema isn't in the best shape. His failure to score a penalty is a very natural thing because in my opinion luck will not always be on Benzema's side. You can expect him to score, no no for every chance or opportunity even if it's a penalty.

Today Real Madrid won 2-1 against Shakhtar Donetsk, Benzema didn't score but he contributed to Real Madrid's match. This weekend, Real Madrid away to Getafe and they look set to get back on their winning streak again.

They are currently in a difficult situation because if they don't win in their second match against Inter then their chances of qualifying seem closed in my opinion. Inter still has a big chance even though it is still not safe but when you compare it to Barcelona it is clear that this is better for Inter.
Now it's up to Barcelona whether they can change this or not.

They aren't letting this reflect on their La Liga games at least which is positive news for them. But if we see them in the Europa League again then it would be a huge disappointment. Xavi has built a great team already now and this team deserve to reach a good stage in the Champions League.

I think that after yesterday's result, Real have an additional advantage as Barcelona got into a difficult position after losing to Inter. Now Barcelona will have to concentrate 100% on the home game against Inter to get back in the fight for the second place in the group and thus it can be assumed that Real Madrid will be fresher in the Clasico.
