Real almost didn't give Osasuna a position, Osasuna couldn't even touch the ball in the second half, let alone making a pass.
I don't think it's true, Ossasuna put pressure on Real Madrid in the second half and they scored in the 50th minute. I agree if you say Real Madrid dominated the second half and improved when Ossasuna lost a player to a red card, but of course Ossasuna had some pretty good stats in that game.
Real took a total of 22 shots throughout the match. They also made twice as many passes as the opposing team. It was an unfortunate night for Benzema. He missed 3 penalties against Osasuna in 2022. Bad misfortune for a player. Even though it is a misfortune, a player who as big as Benzema should be much better at penalties. He shouldn't miss this much penalties in couple of years, let alone in one year against a team.
There was doubt on Benzema's face when he took the penalty, but I think it's only natural because the tension in the game increases especially when the game goes on in the 70+ minutes. Benzema actually managed to score a few minutes after his penalty missed, but unfortunately he was caught offside first so the referee ruled out the goal.
The failure of Real Madrid to get maximum points at home yesterday has benefited Barcelona. It's been a great week for Xavi especially the win against Mallorca has taken them to the top of the table. Next week, Barcelona will host Celta Vigo at Camp Nou and this will be a tough task for Barcelona considering they will definitely be very tired after fighting against Inter in the Champions League in the coming days.
