Their defense have never been good and their defenders have attacking favorite as well as have not too good defense ability. In addition, tactics and the whole system of Barcelona don't help their defense too much. It is how it happens in the club for years and Xavi in golden team of Barcelona knows that. Now, their quality decreases so weakness in their defense is more easily to be compromised.

Xavi brings Traore, Torres and Aubameyang to the club from the winter transfer. By now, Traore and Torres play well and only Aubameyang need more time to prove that he deserves to be there.

I see there am some games that have the potential to drop points for Atletico. Like the match VS Real Betis, Bilbao, Real madrid, Sevilla and Real Sociedad. Even though other clubs can surprise them like the Vs Levante match, statistically these 5 clubs are very tough for them to beat.

If it's just against Levante that Atletico find it difficult to win, what about the teams you mentioned, looks like Atletico will lose a lot of points

they are still not doing well, look what they did in the game against espanyol, they started by winning the game and then they suffered glo and then once again they conceded a goal, it was already 2 - 1, they were losing the game, until luckily they managed to draw, espanyol is not a strong team but managed to score 2 goals and would have won that if not for having made a mistake in defense

I see that Atlético will have a pretty nice series where theoretically they can score a lot of points (if they play better than in the match against Levante). But at the end of the championship they will have a shorter but very difficult streak where they will most likely lose a lot of points - it will be extremely disappointing for them if at the end of the season these meetings do not allow Atlético to get into the Champions League.

When it comes to the Valencia v Barcelona match, I think that Barcelona are definitely the favourite to win this one. Valencia might seem like a scary opponent but they shouldn't think like that. They are Barcelona and they are showing a more satisfying performance recently. Their main goal should be getting a win here at all costs. As Atletico Madrid lost their missing match against Levante, Barcelona have a nice opportunity to become more advantageous against them for the fourth position in the standings. But first, they should focus on not losing any points here.

Solid defense? Awesome, Pique got a red card for now and Barcelona's defense is far from what it used to be in the past. The players also are not getting any younger obviously. They will have a hard time to sign superstars for the next season. Financial problems, reputation problems by now, they are not the prime destination anymore in Europe. Their offense once consisted of Messi, Neymar and Suarez. Compare that to what they have now. Tough years ahead for Barca!

Atlético's chances are still great, even I think they still have the same opportunities as their competitors who are also defending and fighting to get into the top 4 and qualify for the Champions League.
The only thing that matters is the performance of each team, if Atletico had better motivation, I think there is a possibility to stay in the top 4. but there is also Barca who are in a good trend of form.
