It's nice that the rivals and title chasers take advantage of Real Madrid's unexpected slip up. I hope Sevilla gets all three points against Cadiz as they are supposed to. For sure the neutral fans who wants a more exciting end to the season would love to see the gap decrease even more.
Yes i think we are all rooting for a competitive season i hope sevilla get the three points but in my opinion they are not as strong as last season they are likely to drop points sooner or later and they seem the only ones able to compete against real madrid since betis who are on third position are 13 points away.

Shock defeat from Real Madrid. Getafe, which is in the last places, managed to beat Turkish player Enes Ünal 1-0 with a goal. Real Madrid's loss of points has whetted the appetite of other teams. They want to score points and close the gap. Barcelona also won 3 points, winning 1-0.  5th in the league.
Such results are bound to happen in the midst of celebrations and this might have been the case as real players might have been celebrating the coming of a new year but the hosts had other plans for the day which we witnessed as they defended a lone goal which came in the early minutes of the game to upset Real Madrid . Hope Real Madrid as learnt something off this game by not underestimating their opponents.

While I'm happy for Atletico Madrid, I'm sad for Real Madrid at the same time. Atletico Madrid finally put an end to their misery as they weren't able to win for many weeks. They destroyed Vallecano by their performance already even though they scored only two goals. Vallecano must be grateful that Atletico Madrid didn't win by a bigger gap. And Real Madrid had a really bad day as they lost to Getafe away. This shouldn't have been their game which they would lose. But this is football and we never know what kind of surprises are waiting for us.

And I was happy to see Barcelona winning against Mallorca also. Maybe it was a 1-0 win and Barcelona couldn't play much dominantly. But it was one of the important victories for them undoubtedly.

I am absolutely impressed with Puig. Although he lost the balls  2 3 times but in the first half won the ball back and was present in key areas. He was directly involved in our only goal, presented himself as an option to everyone that had the ball on his side of the pitch, he made darting runs from midfield one of which was spotted by Pique whose pass was just too long, he immediately won the ball back after 2 of the 3 losses of the ball he had, and his general game of attracting defenders to draw them out of position to open up space for other players to exploit.

If Sevilla can beat Cadiz, then the competition in La Liga will be exciting again and of course, they will be more motivated to compete with Real Madrid for the title.
Victory is the most likely outcome for Sevilla today against Cadiz. As we know, Cadiz have not been able to rise from the relegation zone where currently they are only able to collect 14 points in 18 match. Cadiz can only win 2 times, draw 8 and lose 8 so they are favorites to experience relegation at the end of the season.

Sevilla is the favorite team to win the game, I don't hesitate to say it because I think Sevilla really want to compete with Real Madrid for the title which is currently the difference in points is still with an 8-point advantage over Sevilla. Win the match is mandatory for Sevilla today.

Rayo Vallecano loss yesterday to the Host Athletico Madrid...but then they can still fight hard and maintain Europa league position.
They can be very good at times, but yesterday wasn't for them, Athletico Madrid seems to have lost a slot.
Glad to see them back in good shape and performance.

Atletico madrid who suffered 4 consecutive defeats in the league finally got back to winning ways by beating rayo, athletico success in defeating rayo also made their current position rise and managed to occupy the top 4 position with 32 points, I think athletico madrid must no longer lose points if they want to stay in the champions league zone, because barcelona which is also slowly starting to rise is only one strip below Atletico current position.

barcelona is very lucky while atletico, real sociedad, betis are in decline

Plus Rayo Vallecano and Valencia. It's pretty funny that a group of 6 teams formed at the top of the table about which we can say that they are in crisis (even if the difference is that some of them played well, and then failed, and some initially played so-so).
Sevilla should probably beat Cadiz without any problems today.

This opportunity should not be wasted by Sevilla, because this is an easy way to approach Real Madrid's position. I think Sevilla should have no trouble beating Cadiz, but they shouldn't underestimate Cadiz. If Sevilla doesn't play with all their might then what happened to Real Madrid could also happen to them. Cadiz managed to hold Real Madrid to a draw, even though at that time Cadiz was playing as a guest.

If Sevilla can beat Cadiz, then the competition in La Liga will be exciting again and of course, they will be more motivated to compete with Real Madrid for the title.

Real Madrid would still win La Liga. The lost game against Getafe doesn't matter.
It's kinda normal for some football players to be in a not-so-good condition after a pause during the holidays.
Getafe had a great goalkeeper and lots of luck,so kudos to them for the win.
Sometimes teams like Real need to lose a game or two. This will motivate and mobilize the players to improve their performance during the spring, when the most important games in both La Liga and the UEFA Champions League have to be won.

Holding down the likes of benzema and Vinicius junior, Real Madrid are nothing without this two when it comes to goal scoring.
This is a good reason why they do need the transfer of Kylian Mbappe.
A good team will hold down this two, if they do Asensio and Rodrigo won't be as effective as them both.

I'm not sure about the financial situation of Real Madrid and can they afford to pay 100 million euro for another player.Real Madrid has to get rid of Eden Hazard. It's pretty obvious that Hazard can't play a crucial role in the team.He has to be sold to some other club.

Damn, what a save by ter Stegen, it was something special. And de Jong, what a legenD He was close to score Puskas Award worthy goal when his bicycle kick hit crossbar, it was so close. Goal that he scored wasn't that amazing, but most important it bring 3 points for us.

they won, but honestly speaking they are still in a crisis of not being able to score many goals, the opponent was not strong and even then they will only score that goal
C'mon, did you saw our squad today. Basically it was Barca B with few main squad players. You can't ask for something more what they did today.

No excuses in football, there's no young boy in football.
If they had won,you would shower them with praise's.
It's still a good thing to see they won Mallorca, isn't that a good one for there confidence ?
Kudos to Ter Stergen and D Jong.

Barcelona seems to have come back to their winning ways and this away win is one which was very important as this puts them in a position where they can potentially go third if they drop points and just looking at the league table is looking like at the moment makes me wonder how these guys have caught the pack which has Atletico Madrid and all teams in it....now i am disappointed with how Alt Madrid has fared of late.

If not for Stegen's efforts, Barcelona would have lost points again. I see no reason for optimism - it was just Mallorca, but at the same time, in all statistical indicators (except for possession of the ball), Barcelona was only on an equal footing. But in the next round, Barcelona again plays with a weak team (Granada), so they may continue to win.

Exactly, there is literally no dominance in the games whatsoever. It feels like there is no spirit, no quality, no motivation in the team. I am sure the only goal they have is to somehow qualify for the Champions League, but then what? Send Luuk de Jong onto the pitch to beat PSG, Bayern, City, Liverpool, Madrid? Just wow, and I guess the shit show hasn't even come to an end yet.

The biggest disappointments today are Real Madrid and Betis... The two leaders in the standings lost by a landslide to the underdogs... A very strange coincidence! Didn't expect such an outcome...
Yep. Rather disappointed with Real Madrid performance today, but I can understand Real Attacking line isn't as strong as usual without Vinicius. Unfortunately, Vinicius cannot play because he was affected by the virus. There are no other players who can replace him as the best option for the left-winger. Asensio or Rodrygo cannot play well in that position, while Hazard is always difficult to show his best. Basically, Hazard who can play well in that position, sadly we know how bad Hazard's performance till today.

For Betis, I don't expect much that they can win and get 3 points. Celta Vigo has some good attackers, they deserve to beat Real Betis. Although Real Betis stats look better, Celta Vigo can play more effectively and didn't waste the chance to score.

not sure if they could get better this season, everyone doubting them so do i.
clearly mallorca deserve points in this match.

Yep, I think Ter Stegen just save Barcelona today with that last-minute save. It certainly on the second half Barcelona performance are degraded, luckily they can keep the score ahead. Though I believe even if it was just Mallorca, the win would really boost the youngster that plays the game.
