I have watched lot of games of Betis when Setien managed them. He achieved 6th place in the league, but in next season something went fundamentally wrong with the team. They also didn't had good forward then.
But Setien is perfect manager for Barca style. But the main problem that he have even less experience in top teams than Valverde. Betis was biggest club in his career so far. Before he managed just Las Palmas and some lower division teams. He might be perfect choice for average team, but I hope that he won't fail in Barcelona.

While Real Madrid is celebrating after won the Spanish super cup then Barcelona has got another bad news for the rest of this season, It's must be a huge blow that Suarez will not able to play rest of the season, It's not the first one, Already three players have gone under the injury so it's not a good sign for themselves. Another important thing is that a lot of Barcelona are demanding that Xabi should be replaced with Valverde as a head coach, I don't think that would bring a good momentum for them because Xabi is not good in Qatar with Al Saad Club, So they should rely on Valverde instead of Xabi.

This is very shocking news. Barcelona fired their coach even though they are still competing in La Liga and the champions league. Is this purely due to the defeat against Atletico Madrid in the Spanish super Coppa semifinals? I doubt it a little ... I think Barca fired Valverde more because the game system that is carried out by Valverde is not in accordance with the philosophy of the Barcelona club itself

Valverde sacked and Quique Serin in. Ernesto did his best with Barcelona but he was not the right man for the job.
Setién was successful at Real Betis, remarkably taking lots of points from the top teams in the league. He has the Barcelona policy of attacking football and strivingg to keep as much of the possession as possible.

Valverde's sack was long overdue but it's yet early in the season and Barcelona are not far behind in the different competitions, and are indeed still leading the laliga table. Setién would have a new challenge managing a dressing room filled with lots of world class players. I'm optimistic for the future.

Well refusing Barca even if not the start of the season is not a good choice IMHO, can be the best opportunity of life as a coach.

Yeah, this one I never understood. I felt so sure he only said no because someone else in EPL already booked him but then they came and went, how many teams have already sacked coaches and got others. Allegri can't spend more than this season without a job otherwise no big club will want him haha.

Then again, Barca needs someone a bit more progressive, and I don't mean Allegri isn't;) Just not a man for this decade.

I was wondering recently who could be a better choice for Barcelona's coach than Valverde. Do you know what's the answer?

I feel like putting up interim head coach for the season is not really viable for now, I mean if it was the last 3-4 weeks that could have happened but there is still the whole second leg going on, people do not like to be really in charge of Barcelona right now because they are doing well for now and they can still get fired, that is how tough of a job we are talking about.

Definitely, if Xavi comes right now and wins the league he would be still allowed for next year and that would be a superb increase in his managerial life (from Gatar team to Barcelona all because he was their player ) however getting fired from Barcelona is also a very bad move as well so I doubt they will want something like that. Pochettino looks like the best case until the end of the season honestly.

there is a possibility he became a coach of Barcelona just because of 1 win at Camp Nou? I like seeing the same case in Takumi Minamino when he scored a goal against Liverpool, and finally, he became a Liverpool player.

that is why i say it is as a fun fact, not a serious appointment consideration.

he also former player of atletico madrid and racing santander played as a central midfielder , pretty productive with 95 goals out of 518 appearences.
i am sure he is not more than just a caretaker while waiting better option to come.

3 lost 4 draw 12 win this season with valverde as a coach.
what could setien gives in the rest of 19 league la liga matches?
he should not have worse stats or the coach switch seems useless.

I am sure that those who will be chosen as the barcelona coach will return the game to the way they used to be, the fast-paced style has to come back because that is Barcelona's main advantage.

Appointing Xavi at this point in the season considering the current state of the club would have been a disaster for both parties. No doubt he would be the ideal option for Barcelona a few seasons down the line, but starting his coaching career with the pressure of one of the best teams in the world comes with a lot of demands and pressure.
I have some other options ahead of Pochetino, but I would be comfortable with him taking over from Valverde. Frankly, I would be comfortable with anyone taking over from Valverde at this point in time.

That is one thing but my point is more how a person integrity can change for more money and forget everything he has said two years ago and to accept the offer from Barcelona.I think that Pochetino should not be hired and Xavi most probably will win the duel for the manager of Barcelona.

Are Pochettino and Xavi candidates for the Barcelona coach? yes win Pochettino has good experience in coaching even able to bring Tottenham Hotspurs into the final UCL but not a champion but it was a good effort for Pochettino.
What is said @swogerino Pochettino does not want to coach Barcelona because he does not know what the reason is even though Barcelona is a big club.

If the offer is high then Pochetino could choose Barcelona as his coach but indeed the news has not yet been circulated in the news so it is still awaiting a good decision.
I think Barcelona should change coach immediately because the current coach does not provide a good strategy in Barcelona's game.

Real Madrid won the trophy as they were kind of lucky that they didn't face Barcelona.
If the final was an El Classico I think that Barcelona would be able to win it.
Hopefully, we saw a Madrid derby... Congrats to Real Madrid. Let's see now if this is going to boost their confidence in winning the La Liga title as well.
