maybe its a huge botnet ? Huh
With almost 4Th/s?
This means:
4'000Gh/s-> with 250Mh/s on average with GPU mining -> 80PC running 24H at 100%

More like 8000.

sorry. just a hunch. i mean there's cloud hashing and the ones already mentioned here.

so who else?  and the thing is, its there and its real. so yeah, cloudhashing is one of the candidates imo.
No need to apologise, I'm just wondering if anyone actually knows. Speculation is good too though and it seems like a good theory. I'd have thought they'd be publicising their power though to encourage people to buy into their scheme.

its cloudhashing's test run.
$160,000 test run?! Are you basing this on anything or is that just a hunch?

probably is Asciminer
ASICminer has publically known addresses and pays out dividends whereas this farm is keeping them all at one address. It's almost definitely AN ASIC setup since the alternatives would be ridiculous at this sort of speed but unless they are going against what they said they'd do and share the profits of each part of the company then it's not them.

I read a thread somewhere that bfl was using clients deposits to create and fund their own mining operation FIRST ergo the delay on delivery. Could this be them?

OooooooPPs  I missed page 2. Its already alluded to by others . Smiley

Maybe it's the Winklevii douches mining instead of buying. Summers Eve probably had a sale on ASIC hardware.
Haha! I like this theory the best!

Back mining. Maybe yesterday was an unlucky day.

These guys have been mining since April so I don't think it was part of this spike. This spike is just the line from now on!

Anyway it looks like I've scared them away from mining to this address. Maybe it's just a coincidence. Anyway it's a shame. I was enjoying seeing their coins go up so quickly!

Well, it was also highly visible on basically every blockchain viewer that suddenly an IP address was raking in over pools.

Quick: is this what caused (part of) the huge difficulty spike?
