Dam that's just awesome. Is it really happening in the world, I mean come on 2 millions just transacted to a address. Lol. I think that's the beauty of bitcoin and no one can blame you or restrict you having such kind of wealth. If the same guy would have deposited money into bank account then just imagine the taxes on that.

I think I found one of the largest Bitcoin addresses and the second largest. I'm probably wrong but it doesn't hurt anyone with me posting them here.

1st Largest I found: https://blockchain.info/address/19iVyH1qUxgywY8LJSbpV4VavjZmyuEyxV Over 5,264,776 BTC ($2.1 billion) received in total.
2nd Largest I found: https://blockchain.info/address/3KgtbGgaX2ngstNpvyv7LwpHSweVeqGbpM Over 4,139,869 BTC ($1.6 billion) received in total.

I think these are the largest total Bitcoin received addresses.
The 1st has received a third of all Bitcoins in circulation.
The 2nd has received just under a third of all Bitcoins in circulation.

Post your thoughts below and the ones you think have received the most Bitcoins in total.

Today is 30th May, 2017 and some transactions dating back to May 21, 2017 in the first link that I bothered to check are still not confirmed. It's almost 10 days and I still wonder why. Does confirmation really take that long?

After all bitcoin still don't have good distribution. I guess after halving we could see some redistribution (dump)?
And this 1% making very strong feeling of uncertainty and little bit of fear, what can happen. I believe most of future FUD will come from this type of thinking.

Isnt that the two brothers owning about one third of all BTC?
I do remember reading some short article about them.
They are very likely to be the owner of this address and its wallet.

It's 100,000 or thereabouts. At the time it was 1% of all coins ever mined. If there was a publicly known holder of one third of all coins that wouldn't go down too well.

You can become the first by sending 10 BTC back and forth with ~100-500 sats everytime and voila you spent 0.5 and broke a record, or get a script to do it for you. Not that hard if you actually want to do it

Or even better do it with 20 BTC and you spend half the above mentioned amount in fees

PS, It'll take a huge amount of time though

I thought the two brothers only own about slightly more than 110k BTC... Maybe their wealth has grown even more??

This is something that can scare you if belong to one or more users in agreement.
They can move price how they like and this can be worse than centralized  control by banks.
What do you think?
But this address belongs to an BTC exchange.

https://blockchain.info/popular-addresses

btw it's address and not wallet. wallets [can] have many addresses.
My bad, also the link you linked, the two I found have more BTC received in total than almost all of them.
The amount received doesn't have much to do with the richest person.  It could be a mixer address that has a lot of transactions run through it to jumble things up, or some sort of service that uses cold storage for anything above a relatively small amount.  Could also be a change address for somebody that makes a lot of small transactions with a large balance, though that wouldn't make too much sense.

I would have expected Gox to have the most turnover of any wallet ever.

I wouldn't call them the biggest wallet though, they don't contain nearly 10million bitcoins, otherwise people would rightly complain that bitcoin was too centralized! (whereas they complain anyway, but it isn't as true.)
bitcoin how they can get that much, I do not believe they could have a lot of bitcoin like it. This is one of the amazing things I have seen this week, they might be able to move prices bitcoin  Shocked

Wtf are you talking about... nobody own that amount, it is just the added total of all the transactions that went through those addresses. If I send 1000 bitcoins 1 000 000 times from one addresses to

another and back again, I will end up with a lot less Bitcoins, but a huge transacted amount. { 100 000 000 } So that does not reflect how much Bitcoins I have, just what the total of all the combined

transactions were.  Roll Eyes { Miners fees will kill much of the original 1000 Bitcoins }

wow amazing, what can I say? they're so lucky.
they have gotten the most bitcoins, maybe we will not get much bitcoin after. haha
Those might be funds of a casino or drug dealer.  Not sure if lucky Smiley

these addresses are most likely from exchanges or, from a very early gambling site, or large mining pools. i am quite sure that drugs dealers only use their bitcoin addresses once. Wink

Centralization has to do with the ownership of the network hashing power, not ownership of the bitcoins. If anyone is talking about bitcoin's level of centralization, they're talking about mining.
