I browse the Alt coins section on this forum and also see new listings on Github and read everything I can get my hands on at these sites : Cointelegraph.com or Coindesk.com/ or www.cryptocoinsnews.com and also Bitbiz.io
You find a lot of information on these sites, but you have to be active on these sites to get the latest information and also be selective, because a lot of it is Pump&Dump schemes. Hope these were helpful in your search.

Thanks for the tips. Do you filter new listings on Github somehow?

Mainly I roam around this section itself and people usually post latest news here as well but in case you'll like to be in first line to read newly published articles, I'll list few down here:
http://cointelegraph.com/
https://www.coindesk.com/
https://bitcoinmagazine.com/
http://www.newsbtc.com/
https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=bitcoin.buzz.feeds

And In case your looking for related forums, this thread might help you. On a side note: Other forums aren't that helpful and most likely this forum will remain as the main source for the years to come.

Thank you very much for your suggestions. I am already using cointelegraph.com and coindesk.com, but I am new to other sources.

Hello guys,

What sites/forums/topics/instruments do you use to stay up to date to new develepment in bitcoin ecosystem - well not only bitcoin but also new blockchain technology/altcoins/projects and so on. How are you discovering the next big thing?

Its good to have access to these type of information which somehow you can consider an inside info so you can speculate better. if you are also into writing articles like for cointelegraph the press releases should help so you won't just be writting something out of your ass.

Most of the new are posted here in the Press board so first i check the forum, then i go to coindesk there are many articles every day, and sometimes i go to themerkle and read about bitcoin news.

Press section of bitcointalk. Localized presssection and the android app bitcoin buzz feed gives a good overview about what is happening actually. Together with price analysis that not seldom point in the right direction.

Thanks for the tips. What do you mean by "localized presssection"?

If you speak a language for which bitcointalk has a subforum. There might be a press subforum for that special language too then. Serves more news for your country then.
