If there is an ignorant buyer and he gets scammed then smoothie's reputation would get harmed even though he had nothing to do with it. Forcing the coins to be funded prevents this from happening.

I get that it's the face value, but I figured that you could have just left it up to the buyer to decide to fund it.

And I would hope there are no ignorant buyers buying coins of such a high face value.

The coin has a face value of 5 BTC and has an intact hologram on the back.  If not funded, what's stopping the winner from representing it as funded, and selling it to an ignorant buyer?

smoothie hand engraves laser etches them after the sticker is applied, so I don't think #2 is right.

I would assume:
1) face value of the coin is 5BTC so it makes sense
2) the holo is already applied and can't be re-marked as "BUYER FUNDED", so it would have to be funded to full amount to be able to match both criteria.

I could be horribly wrong tho...

I'm a bit confused on why you are insisting on having it prefunded with 5BTC?

Just know that it won't be perfectly centered given the difference in the way Casascius coins are minted (placement of the recess under the hologram).

I could recenter the hologram but it won't be #100.

If the winner wants me to rehologram the coin to make it more center I have no problem doing that.

I bid .02BTC.

A raw 5BTC cas coin should be worth well more then that.

Could I retract my bid? Since nobody has really bid on this.

I didn't notice I would have to fund 5 BTC.

I think this might be why the window on the hologram looks a bit funky on this 5BTC coin.

It is nice. But why logo is not centered correctly? Looks a bit unprofessional.
Anyway, I like it, just the logo can be better centered.
