To learn about specific rules obout certain forms of gambling, I'd suggest looking through Wikipedia.
They offer some really decent information and you'll know it's, usually, not biassed.

For example, you wanted to know what parlay was:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parlay_(gambling)

Wikipedia article on odds (This one might be too technical):
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Odds

But for online poker there's an even better resource than wikipedia:
http://www.thepokerbank.com/

I hope you got some help from all of this Smiley

Thanks.  I think this is what I need.  Just walking into gambling here and betting on sports I have only done stuff like Poker and little things like that where there are no odds or different payouts depending on the odds.  Any recommendations on how to beat the odds?  Or is it just the same do research on the team and see how they are doing?

I dont think you need book to learn about that, you can just search it on internet, its all very clear and by the time you will master it, and it takes some times to,know all of the term meaning, the odds is made by booker they have their market prediction about the match, little clue if you want to bet on soccer, the odds of the game can change while the match is playing, so if you are not sure what to bet you can observe first

It depends on what you are betting at of course... if you are betting on sport matches, then study the statistics of that particular sport, the different teams etc.. same for boxing/ufc etc. Learning about what gambling itself is good but you must know your game.

Anyone know of any good books to read, or articles that talk about gambling and how odds work, how the over under works and where you can find information on that.  I have just started betting at a site and I am confused by the term parlay and over under and who the favorite is, how much you will win if you win the bet and all that stuff.

Thanks!
