50% was on Nano S last year, but not for Black Friday and not for Nano X. It is possible that Ledger will have a similar promotion this year for Christmas and New Year holidays. I also have a Nano S, but another hardware wallet as a backup will certainly come in handy.
Yeah, you're right, I forgot exact numbers, I just remembered 50% discount 2 years ago when I bought my Nano S. And obviously, last year there was no discount for Nano X, because it was just freshly released back then.

Well, I'm quite happy with what Ledger offered this Black Friday, I saved about 35% on the Nano X which is a really good discount for me. I save almost $50, which is not bad at all.

Damn, these Ledger Black Friday deals are so attractive. Maybe it's not 50% as it was previously, but 30% discount is great deal.

There are still a few hours left to buy all Ledger devices at a promotional price, and for the last day Ledger is giving an extra 5%, so in total, you can get 35% discount. Promo code which users need to apply on checkout is LASTDAY.
Actually it’s 5% over the already discounted price of 30%, meaning that it’s actually a discount of ~33% (depends on location). Cheesy

As a Ledger user myself I have never experienced the issues you have and surely it has something to do with your device and the way you use it.

HCP asked if you have hundreds/thousands of transactions?! That could explain the synchronization issues.
Also, Ledger wallets are not suitable to be used to receive mining rewards and have multiple small, dust-like transactions sent to them. Is that something you do? You should read this if that is the case > https://support.ledger.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005165209-Receive-mining-proceeds

Edit: I just noticed you posted in another thread and that your problem is related to receiving mining payments so there you have it!

I'm finding the Ledger S absolute rubbish on my Win10 64 laptop along with LL.
It's forever syncing or stuck on 'go to display screen om Ledger Device' or something similar.
It's taken me 3 days to add BTC, BCH and XRP ( i also hold another 10 coins at least!!)
It honestly sounds like some weird issue that would seem to be specific to your Win10 laptop and/or your Nano S device... dud unit? bad USB ports? bad driver install? Huh It is very strange. Do your accounts have hundreds/thousands of transactions or something? Huh Are you running via a VPN or TOR? Huh

I have zero issues connecting/installing apps/uninstalling apps/adding accounts etc. It takes a matter of seconds to add/remove apps... and scanning/adding accounts takes less than a minute etc. But I only have like maybe 15-20 transactions in my accounts.

It is also quite possible that your device itself is bad. Maybe try and create a ticket with Ledger Support... see if they can help you troubleshoot the issues with your laptop/device combo and maybe get a new device if it is determined to be the source of the problem. It certainly shouldn't take more than a few minutes to get an app installed and an account setup in Ledger Live... let alone "hours"!!?! Shocked Shocked Shocked

I don't understand how people can say use the s as a backup and x fo use?
Surely they would just be to completely new wallets with different recovery keys/differnt password.?
Or are you relating to somehow combining the two?
Correct. You basically just have the same seed mnemonic restored on both devices... they will essentially be "clones" of each other... So, if one device breaks, you should be able to simply use the other device and it will have all the same wallets/accounts available etc.

Quote
Plus i have read that the S can now only hold 2 apps at a time with LL!!
It was never as low as "2 apps"... and it has nothing to do with Ledger Live... but with the fixed memory size of the device itself... and that some apps in the 1.5.5 firmware unfortunately ended up with an increased size that restricted the number of apps that could be stored on the device being lowered. I believe that it would generally be around 4 or 5 apps (depending on the specific apps used).

In any case, as of Firmware 1.6.0... vast improvements have been made and the app sizes reduced (particularly ETH), so it's now possible to have a much larger number of apps stored on the device at the same time. I got BTC, BCH, DOGE, LTC, ETH, STELLAR and XRP and I think I still have more room for apps.

EDIT - I have been tryimng for hours to add LTC, it's just stuck on 'Navigate to DASHBOARD on your Device'
I'm sure you're aware that the "dashboard" on your device is the screen that allows to you scroll through all the apps + settings option... you should NOT have any app "open" on the device... if you do, scroll to the "Quit App" option and select it.

Dragonizer, I doubt the problem is in your Nano S (although this possibility should not be rejected), but you have some problems with your PC/OS. You know this is true since Nano S is working just fine in your old PC. Remove Ledger Live, (delete his folder also), try to update your Windows via Windows Update, check your hardware. Then try again with the latest Ledger Live+latest 1.6.0 firmware+latest coin apps (remove old apps from Nano S and install them again - BTCÐ first).

Regarding backup and using Nano S+X, both devices can have the same seed (identical address/es). First, you create seed on Nano S, then you enter the same seed on Nano X. In case something bad happens (device damaged or stolen) you have the second device fully operational.

You should read better, Nano S can hold much more than 2 apps at the same time with 1.6.0 firmware.

P.S.

Pay attention where and how you posting, editing post is not same thing as making a new post.

I recon he would know, he's a member of Trezor's affiliate program.

Yeah, refferal links seem not to work for me for some reason, but at least, I get this kind of information earlier than other users. I got another e-mail today. Shipping to the USA is now free!

So, yeah, I have 5 freaking hardware wallets.  Roll Eyes

I am kind of on the same boat. I have 3 hardware wallets right now. I would have 4 if I hadn't sold my Nano S.

LOL. I wish. Cheesy

I'm seeing the X for $83 (USD) and the duo-pack for $104.
Weird. The price just changed for me.

I saw them in my local currency (BRL) a few minutes ago and the duo-pack was like R$ 40 (~$9) cheaper than the single X. Not sure what happened. Tongue

I don't think so, lol.

Damn it, I love a bargain.  I pre-ordered the Ledger Duo-Pack last year, bought a Trezor T for myself (B-day present) this year, took advantage of the free KeepKey offer, and recently order two sets of Trezor-One 3-Packs for Christmas gifts (but there's one extra.)  Grin

Am I seeing this right? Is the Nano X + Nano S pack cheaper than a single Nano X?

It's already public and available: https://shop.trezor.io/

I wouldn't be surprised to see free KeepKeys again.
AFAIK they are selling them for $5 now (for the Black Friday promotion).

These deep discounts are hurting my head, I wouldn't mind getting another Nano X and another Trezor T.  But does a guy really need two Nano Xs and two Trezor Ts?

Trezor is also offering 30% off for Black Friday according to BitCryptex.  I recon he would know, he's a member of Trezor's affiliate program.  A few days ago he posted this:

Trezor Black Friday starts on 29 November at 00:00 and will end on 3 December 09:00 (GMT+1). You can use “TRZR30“ promo code to get a 30% discount on everything!

A couple of months ago ShapeShift was giving away KeepKeys.  I got one for free, they even paid for shipping.  A few weeks later they were offering them for $10 to new ShapShift members.  I wouldn't be surprised to see free KeepKeys again.

These deep discounts are hurting my head, I wouldn't mind getting another Nano X and another Trezor T.  But does a guy really need two Nano Xs and two Trezor Ts?

It's a good offer, but I'm expecting a further discount (50% off) in December, it was 50% the last time so they could bring it back.
@KeepKey says that there is an amazing Black Friday deal offering, although they did not explain much (a mere $5.00 for a period of time.[1])
Does anyone know about Trezor's offers?

Personally, I think that the 30% discount is something that can be considered a very fair price, and for those who think it's too small, it's possible that the Nano S will be even cheaper in the next promotional sale. Both hardware wallets are identical in terms of security, but the Nano X is still a newer and somewhat more advanced model.

By looking at prices Nano X is now about $90 in total (free shipping+included VAT), and Nano S is exactly half that price. As the current owner of the Nano S, I have plans to buy a Nano X.

I wanted to buy a Nano X but it looks like I have to wait longer because it is still expensive for my wallet.

I don't want to interfere with your financial situation, but Nano X would cost you at this point 0.012 BTC, which is only 15 posts in CM.

Well, hopefully it is not going to be obsolute in 2020. My Nano S is still doing good but I want to go full HW for all my cryptos. Next time then.

Good to know that Ledger has something planned for the Black Friday madness that everyone wants. At least to those who don't have a hardware wallet would benefit a lot from that discount. I feel sad if someone bought like one week before the discount, it might have some emotional effects.

So reading some of the replies, it depends on the person's preference if picking up an X or just an S.

So for iOS people: the Nano X because of it's none-OTG capability.
Android people: if they have OTG capabilities, then it would save them more money.

Looks like the To The Moon edition of the Nano X isn't available on Ledger's site anymore, nor is it on sale on Amazon.  Oh well.  That was the only thing I would have bought with the black Friday discount since I don't really need another hardware wallet.

30% off is one hell of a discount on everything else, though.  Hopefully newbies who've never used a hardware wallet will take advantage of the sale.
