~snip~

You totally misunderstood me, I know how to use a hardware wallet with the desktop or mobile phone - but in this case, crwth issue is strictly related to mobile Ledger Live and wrong balance/sync problem. He simply found a solution to his problem and share it with a community, which is likely to help someone in the future. Nobody wants to open a crypto wallet and see 0 balance, this has happened to me several times in the past and it was quite a shock.

Using Electrum desktop is not solution that will prevent sync issues, bad server, antivirus/firewall blocking the connection or something else are just some of the problems users may encounter.

I did a search here with the term "resynchronization" but it didn't show any relevant references that's why I posted my take on it. Thank you, Lucius, for your reference.

You're welcome, forum search is not always perfect, and sometimes it's better to open a new topic than an old one.

Farewell, Leo. You will be missed!
I had a similar experience a long time ago after I did some consolidation of Bitcoin transactions. A straight line to the bottom and the total value of Bitcoin assets 0. But Ledger Live synced the balance pretty quickly and everything was back to normal.

On another note and sorry for going off topic. Has anyone noticed that opening the Ledger Live desktop app seems to go much slower since a few updates ago? I remember before as soon as the Ledger Live window loaded I was able to enter my password and access the app. Now when it appears, it seems to be doing some additional syncing/loading/downloading in the background for a few seconds. I think I noticed it first around the time when the new firmware was being rolled out.

Thank you for this, I think it's a good reference for people who use Ledger with a desktop. For now, I'm utilizing the enjoyment of wireless connection because of Ledger Nano X and just having my smartphone with me.

Your guide might help few user, but the thread title could be better. I was thinking about benefit of resynchronization when read the thread title Tongue
Thank you for your recommendation. I would try to do that.

This is an old trick for years when it comes to Ledger, because sometimes there are problems with synchronization which results in a faulty balance display. In situations where nothing else gives results, deleting the cache simply forces the application to download all data from start.

It is because the earlier version of Ledger Live had sync problems and that's why their new version requires some users to delete their cache. People have been reporting these problems on Twitter so it's better to follow the solutions there as well. https://twitter.com/ledger_support (btc bug: https://twitter.com/Ledger_Support/status/1221717054501408769)

I also panic at times but since I know my bitcoin addresses, I just check my funds there to be sure.
Thanks for your contribution, not aware when it comes to social media reports though. My balance is not large but it still something you worked hard for, right? I think people should not panic too much or be irrational as they might do something they can regret.

If you are able to use on desktop, just use ledger nano and electrum.
Electrum is a much better software and you won't have this kind of issue.

How do you get from Ledger Live on Android to Electrum desktop? It is not true that Electrum is not had a problem with sync, it is actually a very common occurrence. Both apps need to be connected to servers so they can communicate with BTC blockchain, to show correct balance or to receive/send transactions.

Ledger live is a ok software.  Not good, not bad.
It has many small problems like the one you mentioned.

If you are able to use on desktop, just use ledger nano and electrum.

I use it in my desktop but never used it in my phone yet however the thing you faced is just a common sense to resolve and I get it that some of us really gets panicked sometimes.

I'm here to share what happened to me recently with Ledger live on my smartphone.

So first things first, I'm using Ledger Nano X for my transactions. I opened my Ledger, then input my pin and opened the BTC application in it. After that, I go to my smartphone then opened the Ledger Live App then immediately go to the Transfer Tab. I was transacting only around 0.004 BTC, just some of my bills, and I was surprised that it said that I had no funds. Being the paranoid that I am, I thought I was hacked or something. I wasn't able to screenshot the actual issue, but the problem is the synchronization with the blockchain.

The solution I have found by going around the app and checking the Settings tab.

Settings > Help > Clear Cache

So with this, it would force resynchronization with the blockchain to make sure that it synced with the right block height. I learned something. in this experience, and it was just back to normal. I hope that this could help other users as well.
