Replacing devices that have become non-functional through no fault of the user is something Ledger has always done. A satisfied customer is one way to promote their product, and on the other hand the company can get an insight into defective devices and thus possibly correct similar malfunctions in the future.

Here’s at least one good news from Ledger these days Wink

My Ledger Nano couldn't work after that and finally the numbers that I could see half also disappeared that I could see only the ends and no words were visible.

I contacted Ledger and I am thrilled by their service and response. They arranged a pick up of the old one and delivery free of cost and gave me a brand new device which I received today. I haven't seen a better company than Ledger Smiley

Lack of AUD support is an ongoing issue. There are multiple threads about it already on the Ledger subreddit. You can see the responses from the Ledger team in the following replies:
https://www.reddit.com/r/ledgerwallet/comments/gce4xw/what_happened_to_the_option_to_choose_aud_for/fpckr9c/
https://www.reddit.com/r/ledgerwallet/comments/ghbdns/can_you_change_to_aud_on_ledger_live_and_also_to/fqfpzam/

Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be high up their list of priorities, but starting another thread about it on their subreddit won't hurt if you feel that strongly about it.

I'm not sure if Electrum has the option to choose AUD
It does.

Broomey, I think Ledger gave you the best answer and it all really depends on them to fix something like this. I really don’t see how that would pose any big challenge, but I really can’t comment on why they removed AUD as a fiat base option.

I'm not sure if Electrum has the option to choose AUD, but if you haven't already tried you can connect your Ledger to Electrum, and then click Tools -> Preferences -> Fiat tab. All you have to do is be persistent in your request, or get used to the USD.

Hi everyone.
Does anyone know if Ledger will bring back all the currency support they use to have? I live in Australia and they use to have an AUD option (amongst many others) but it randomly disappeared one day. I contacted Ledger directly, but support said said something like they were having trouble with the 3rd party they use for currency conversions and are looking for a fix. It has been months now... Using USD is getting frustrating!
Come on Ledger.. all your competitors have AUD!!
Anyone know any update on this sort of thing??
Cheers.

Again am facing a display issue that occurred few months back. That got resolved after restart but now it's not getting resolved. Couldn't even enter the code as numbers look the same. Sent them an email but got no reply yet.

As I have already tried to explain to you in previous posts, your Nano S obviously has some sort of screen problem, and the only way to fix it is to buy a new device or ask for a replacement from Ledger. I think you will have to sacrifice trading for a while, or just use a reputable desktop wallet in the safest way possible until you get a replacement device.

Customer support is not instant, it may take a few days to get a response - and I think you should also consider the weekend, pandemic and summer holidays in the EU.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean... there is an issue with the device itself so when you're asked to enter the PIN you can't see the numbers? Huh

Is this the issue you were facing yesterday?
Yes, that seems to be it. Although it wasn't related to any update. I was trying to generate a new Bitcoin receiving address but Ledger Live didn't recognize that my device was connected and the BTC app was open. Luckily I fixed it after a few attempts, without having to restart anything. It's good that they are aware of this and are working on a permanent fix, as the article says.

Pretty much anything you do to Ledger Live itself is "harmless"... as you're really only affecting data on the PC... Like you could completely delete LL and all it's data and it's all pretty much recoverable from simply re-syncing once you've connected your device again.

The "dangerous" stuff is the stuff that lets you do things to the device that might wipe it... like the "repair your device"... or "device setup"... but even then, that's only "dangerous" if you don't have your backup seed mnemonic Tongue

Any known issues that have happened in the past to users who cleared their cache?

Clearing the cache is an old trick used even on Ledger Chrome App, and this option is mostly used when the balance of the wallet is incorrect. When you clear cache, the app is forced to resync and download all data again. It's about the same thing that can be done in Electrum (though not the simplest way) by deleting blockchain headers, and that force Electrum to download the same file again.

I don't think this procedure can do any harm to the user in any way, it's a pretty harmless process.

Looks like they have already addressed this issue via their new article: https://support.ledger.com/hc/en-us/articles/360010856259

Is this the issue you were facing yesterday? The other users were facing other issues like syncing errors and errors when updating apps.

@erikalui
I never seen that before so I didn't do any research on how to fix it either. Thanks for the hint, I will try to clear the cache and see if that solves the problems. Any known issues that have happened in the past to users who cleared their cache?

I was trying to generate a new Bitcoin address yesterday to receive a transaction and ran into some small problems on my own. The Ledger Live software had some difficulties recognizing that my device was connected and the Bitcoin app was open. It just kept going in circles. After about 3 or 4 attempts where I had to close the BTC app and re-click on the 'Receive' button it finally got recognized and I was able to generate a new address.

Small glitch, I am just hoping it doesn't turn into something more serious.
Before someone asks, Ledger Live and all installed apps on the hardware wallet are up to date.

On Twitter they are asking everyone to clear their Cache incase they encounter such problems so may be try clearing your Cache. I did that too and now my software is working fine. Go to Settings > Help > Clear Cache.

I have Windows 10. Their earlier Ledger Live version had a sync issue and used to crash in between a transaction and the problem happens now too but less often since I updated it.

I personally don't use LL because Electrum is all I need for now, but as far as I can see on Ledger Reddit, back a few months and maybe a year, a lot of people complain that their LL is very unstable and crashing o W10. At the same time, it works for some without any problems, even on the W7 - which gives the impression that it's not just the OS in general, but the combination of OS and PC hardware. For example, I can not run LL on W7, it crushes in just few seconds, and one user on the forum is made a firmware update on the same OS with some small problems.

What you can try to do is to uninstall Ledger Live/delete his folder, sometimes old and new files can create problems, and clean installation may be helpful.

The good thing is that the problem was solved by itself, but the question is whether the problem will recur in the future. It may be just something completely harmless from a technical point of view, but it's also the first sign that the screen is starting to show the first signs of some kind of damage. If you were able to record that error, you can contact Ledger support, in most cases the replacement of the device is free. Something similar happened in this case.

On what OS are you using Ledger Live? W7 is known to do such problems, but W10 or Linux should work without problems. What you can try is uninstall Ledger Live, delete his folder with all files (C:\Users%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\Ledger Live) and install the latest version from Ledger.

I have taken out a video showing this display issue but since it got resolved on its own, I do not want to replace it now. Also, if they offer replacement, it would take days to receive the device and I need it to trade so would contact them if it happens again.
