Hello guys, im relatively new to the crypto scene, but after 6 weeks my portofolio already made big jumps. I have lots of ERC20 token of MEW, that I wanna put on a hardware wallet. I want to know wich of these 2 hardware wallet is better. I heard that Ledger is not open source like Trezor. Is that something that I should worry about? Some days ago somebody bought a Ledger Nano S from a third party site and he got hacked, because the ledger was compromised. Can that happen with Trezor?
I think that both are good but it should be ensured that they are bought from the official website.Nowadays with bitcoin and other crypto coins prices increasing highly, more people have started to show interest in buying such hardware wallets to save their coins.

Thank you guys. After some research, I´m gonna buy the ledger nano, because it´s easier to use. Bitcointalk is a very good community. You helped me a lot. Smiley

From everything I've read on the subject, the ledger nano s is the best option for the money. Both are good, but the nano s is a lot cheaper. Trezor support more ERC-20 tokens as far as I know, since it supports all, and ledger only supports a few, but if that is not a problem for you go for ledger. I also heard that the software of the trezor is better. Not saying that is more secure, just that it gives you more options, but nothing really important, so it all comes down to what is the wallet that supports all the coins you want to use. If both do that, then the less expensive is probably better.

I want to store mainly ERC20 tokens on the hardware wallet. I thought ledger nano s also supports all ERC20 like trezor. So in that case it would be better for me to buy trezor, because of the ERC20 support?

They both offer ERC-20 tokens support, but both need to interact with Myetherwallet.com for this to work if I am correct > you can find many videos on YT how they both work with that.

This both product are good. However you want an easy to understand with fast support hardware wallet then it must be ledger nano s. As for the newbie in crypto world. ledger nano S is great for you.

Note: do not buy 2nd hand ledger nano or trezzor. It you still want. change the passphrase or private key. Because the old owner might hack or withdraw your balance. good luck

I really like the Nano S, however I have a few friends that purchased from Amazon and state that it did not come with the entire packaging. I would assume its best to purchase direct.

For me it has to be the Ledger Nano S. As others have mentioned, both are great and both are way more secure than relying on a web wallet. I just prefer the sleekness of the Nano S and that's how I decided. Just make sure you buy from official places and not second hand.

I was in the same boat as you. Decided on a Ledger Nano S from an authorized retailer. I got the name of the online store from the Retailers section on the official Ledgar Wallet site. Wouldn't take a risk on Amazon or else ware.

Both products are strongly recommended by the cryptocurrency community for security, both have only a different look, Trezor screen is larger than the one that the Ledger.
it's better to buy from the official party because it will guarantee security

Nano s is the most reliable and better hardware wallet I would recommend to use nano s. The price is only$70 which is very cheap for what it does.

Yes of course, i have a ledger and a trezor, both are good, but in my opinion, the ledger nano is much more cheap, and it works pretty well too, maybe a little bit more than the trezor.

I dont like the trezor because it is veryyy fragile, it can easily get broken if it falls from your desktop, and i need to say that ledger is much more handsome, it has a "man" style that makes it looks more rude.

But i do not know, they both are doing exactly the same thing, it all depends on you.

If you plan to get the Nano S, try to do a group buy.  I bought 5 and it came out to be ~80USD shipped for each.

I love the sleekness of it and quality feel.

I know people that have both and I think they are exactly the same for all intents nd purposes.  The ledger nano s is a but cheaper so I would go with that since they are the same.

I may think this article will help you a lot. https://cointelegraph.com/news/life-savings-stolen-from-second-hand-ledger-hardware-wallet
But it may better to buy trezor rather than ledger because trezor has a better security than ledger and i heard that the ledger wallet already exploited by someone. And so you must think to put trezor as the first choice.

This is not representative of the Ledger Nano S. This was one case of someone who purchased a used unit and was the cause of the coins being stolen.
