10k seems a big number to reach but it isn't.
We are approaching to the 1000$ wall faster than I thought, just wait a couple of months and we eventually reach and break through it.

I agree, we'll go fast to 1000 and then go vertical to 5000 or more.
Sometimes I like to look at the Huobi chart and imagine the 4 digit numbers are actually dollars... weird perversions, I know Grin

Stop it, you are making me drool.

But, don't forget that a ~28k BTC sell would take us to $0  Wink
The mighty proudhon comments on my post! I am so honoured (confirmed)

Proudhon doesn't post much anymore.  He's up to something.  Probably converting his BTC to string-theory-coin, or engaging in time travel.

Yo, Proudhon, tell President Chelsea we said, "Hi!"

Either of these (10k buy order or 28k sell order), would be corrected really quickly, probably back to current levels.  Also it would be only on 1 exchange

How do you guys know how many btc need to be bought before it reaches a certain amount. What chart or site is used? bitcoinwisdom?

Nice site, and i love how they started to use mBTC rate instead of btcs to show the price of bitcoin, if the people see this along all markets they will buy it more because they wont think its expensive.

Why stop at $1,000?  Put in a 12K BTC order and take it all the way to $6300   (I can't see any further on the chart)

If I would buy 12K BTC (unfortunately I have not the cash to do so), I would set a bot buying 1 BTC every 60 seconds and, in a week, I would buy 10K BTC a lot cheaper than 6K or 1K USD.

The price would skyrocket after, when the people realize there is very little left to buy.

But, if I would buy 10K BTC, I would had bought them under 400$ when the price went down, not when the price is going up.

wow. How much to ONE MILLION UNITED STATES OF AMERICA DOLLARS on Bitstamp?

PS: Odd is, that there is only on single ask over 500btc. Next is 366btc and next 293btc. Until $200 and is no single 500btc buy order, 6 above 300. Where are the big walls? Not resting an Bitstamp anymore?

If only we had people that enjoyed throwing away their net worth at the benefit for the rest of us.  Seems like those people become less numbered each year.

Thanks. I am glad this forum exists. I have learned a lot from reading the posts and asking questions (to more experienced members)

Can you just snap off a 10k btc order and take one for the team?
Tempting, but there's so much talk about market manipulation around here I think I'll just leave it be =D

This is exactly how Mt Gox manipulated the Bitcoin exchange rates in December 2013. But prices crashed within 2-3 months. The pump-and-dump may work in the short term, but in the long term, it tarnishes the reputation of Bitcoin.

Yeah and that was done over time.. This would be an instant crash right back down, but we were obviously kidding. No one here is making anywhere near a 12k btc order right now
