I agree with your opinion, if you want to start investing you have to do research first and also be careful to avoid scam projects, in my opinion it is difficult to choose a good project that can provide benefits from investment.
Ico's are always a risk just a listing on the stock market has risk, this is due to the fact that if the offer is undersubscribed then the value will drop just as if the offer is oversubscribed the value will rise.

Read this several minutes ago. We must be vigilant on what we are investing and must do some research or study first if the project that we wanted to join is legit or not. Yeah ICOs like that is really give a bad image into ICO and of course the media out there will input this kind of news and it makes a bad image into cryptocurrency world.
